    Ah yeah... sorry, I misunderstood, but we definitely agree on this one. It is correct -- and it should have been retired long time ago. Mikan is an NBA legend.

    1950s = George Mikan
    1960s = Wilt/Russell
    1970s = Kareem
    1980s = Bird/Magic
    1990s = Jordan
    2000s = Shaq/Kobe/Duncan
    2010s = Lebron

    Those are the eras IT players. Mikan is rightfully getting his jersey up next to all the LA greats, Elgin Baylor was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers. They are the same franchise. More credit needs to be given to them.

    Curious what the jersey will look like. Do they go with purple & gold for consistency?

    I'm optimistic that our young talent will be much more impactful than many think. AD and Lebron will have healthy seasons and under Coach Ham's direction we will build team chemistry and be fun to watch. Reaves, Nunn and Bryant all become solid starters and Russ embraces his sixth man role. Russ along with Beverly lead a second unit that becomes a terror. Going to be a good season. There are no super teams to fear. We should be a good regular season team and picking up another legit wing around the trade deadline might just be the push we need.

    I’m optimistic about guys like JTA, brown and Reaves.

    I also want to believe we will finally catch a break and our guys will stay relatively healthy this year.

    I think AD/Lebron will look great and Reaves will take a big jump. He doesn't have enough athleticism to be an All-star but he can get into the tier below.

    After that I got nothing: probably around game 30 I'm hoping Russ is benched or traded and the lakers got a decent shot at a playoff spot. Just need so much to go right (Reaves taking a leap, Brown learning to shoot, JTA earning a spot, Russ not being Brick, healthy Lebron/AD)

    Not even a bone thrown to our nice pick ups in Jones and Bryant at the 5 to let AD be a 4? With Huff in the wings that hopefully we don’t let get away.

    Good point - the 5 should be solid this year: team wont be undersized compared to last year but without Stan the wing defense is going to suffer. Feels like this off-season was a bridge that stopped construction halfway across the water

    It was a good media day

    - Emphasis on defense across the board
    - Russ' topic well managed and putting him on the spot to prove he deserves the minutes
    - Pat is a menace. This guy really makes a team just by being part of it
    - good awareness of Pelinka on the value of our picks. Liked his honesty and straight talk on our plan (although I don't like the plan)

    I think we're better than last year and that's positive

    Ok, with the news that Nunn is actually playing right now and with the starters no less, I’m finally feeling some hope for this season. He’s a likeable kid with some heart and I’ll be rooting for him. His inclusion on the team is a big lift. It’s still a funky roster with too many guards but I’ve got a glimmer of hope now as long as Lebron and AD stay healthy.

    I still think we need to trade Russ at some point to have a chance to contend. But even he is saying the right things at least at this point about playing D for Ham.

    I think by the trade deadline, Indy will be begging for a trade with us with only 1 FRP when their GM realizes he's about to get nothing in exchange for their best player, Turner. That is not something you want on your resume as a GM. Of course at that point we can wait a couple of months and sign Turner outright unless by some collision of the earth moon and sun, Westbrook turns a leaf and is a monster on defense and picks up a 6th man of the year award and we resign him.

    been saying this for a while--the teams that were trying to squeeze us may find they wished they hadn't. if turner gets hurt again, indy has him walking for nothing and having to pay to get off hield or pay him 20 million again the next year to help them finish 13th in the east.

    they should have taken our offer, imo.
