Well, it wasn't very impressive but at the end of the day a win is a win. And the Clippers lost tonight too. So that's all good news.

It’s a moot point. Haven’t you heard? Our team is trash and most of the roster doesn’t deserve to be on an NBA team.

soft trash. like old styrofoam or something. a real organization would have gotten giannis and luka this summer, whilst retaining brandon christ. they'd also have us in first place instead of...FAKE FIRST PLACE!

The gloom and doom around here is pretty insane to me, too. I know everyone is sad because of the horrible Kobe tragedy. I get that and we need to be able to mourn. But the player bashing in these threads and the pessimism about the team in general when we are number one in the West and a legit top 3 championship contender all season long is becoming a bit much IMO. I have to admit I don't really get it. I'm enjoying the fact that the Lakers (with ALL of their numerous warts apparently) are actually winning and on top again. The phrase "this is why we can't have nice things" comes to my mind, honestly.

yeah, i realize i'm going overboard on my responses, but it's because i also don't get the motivation here. nobody is saying the team is without flaw and is going to bring home the trophy. we're just trying to enjoy the team not sucking for the first time in forever. only one team wins a title each year. if that's literally the only thing that keeps you watching, i'd honestly suggest you not do it. it's not good for you.

Totally. It's just kind of astounding to me because we actually are the second best team in the league right now. And the Bucks are cakewalking through the East which is not as competitive. So we do have very decent odds to be the team that wins that title. In other words even if only the title will satisfy you as a fan, our chances are pretty good in that department as well. In the meantime, folks try to enjoy a great season again. That's what I'm trying to do at least.

A win is a win. How do people forget that the days before the All-Star break almost always look like an ugly slog, these guys are tired. Unless your superstar is 25 and not injured like Giannis, this is likely what you’re going to see, inconsistency. The Clippers got destroyed by the Wolves last night, but all I read are excuses for them. Oh they didn’t have Beverly. Please. This happens, we’re 50+ games in. Oops, did I just make a receipt with my positive post?

I'm with you Weezy. A win is a win is a win. And last I checked despite the Clippers FO brilliance blah blah blah they were in third place in the West and sixth place overall. I know it was a sloppy win last night but coming in here this morning one would think our roles were reversed with the Warriors, that we were at the bottom of the league instead of the top.

In other words, I hope some of the posters here can grasp the great opportunity we are finally seeing again here in Lakerland. I also hope folks will utilize the WMC for the heavy griping. Discussion is one thing but when our player threads are all full of harsh criticism and demeaning it gets to be a drag. Seriously.

It’s not enough to win. We have to win with style, grit, and determination while every team member sets PR’s on offense, defense, PER, oRTG and dRTG and WARP

once we sweep the playoffs Fo-Fo-Fo-Fo...

then we need to give our playoff shares to Kobe’s charity, gather the championships rings together, melt down the gold along with the championship trophy, form it into a black mamba with the rings’ diamonds for eyes, worship it for 3 days while fasting and watching Kobe videos, all rename our firstborn kids Kobe or Gigi (except me, I’m going with Bean since I have Latino heritage), and walk around calling people soft at work.

Then, and only then, can we truly be happy.

but the players should each immediately retire, and their speeches should credit Kobe for everything. They reached the pinnacle due to him, and it’s downhill from here. Shut the franchise down, bronze the court, and putKobes memories in a time capsule for future generations.

All of our former players should immediately donate their bodies to science. Jim Buss is to be burned at the stake. Byron should be drowned in grits. Mike Dan Tony will fake flop a foul and accidentally impale himself on a sharp object.

the end. I love a happy ending.

I only watched a couple of minutes tonight, but was surprised to see Devin Booker was tied for 5th on his team in scoring tonight and played over 30 minutes. Not his night.

    Makes me sad.

That win was more like it. I don't think we trailed after the first quarter. Solid beat down. Lebron had a so so game but didn't have to play too much as Rondo went off. I'll take it!

I like the "* indicates a playoff appearance" part.

You should—the line was long and the ride could be short.
