About 10 years ago I had an account on ESPN message boards and the NBA general talk forum had a popular hypothetical question that went to about 1000+ replies. There are now more new players with fighter's physiques and skill (James Johnson) and the answers will be much different now. - Mods please delete this thread if this is too off-topic. - The scenario if you were involved in a bar brawl for whatever reason and you could have any three NBA players in their physical primes, which three would you choose to fight alongside you. Who do you bring? Please don't choose Miami forward James Johnson. Everyone knows he has MMA wins. I went with Ben Wallace, Ron Artest, and Nikola Pekovic (EDIT: This is my first thread. I hope it isn't a bad one)
This thread should probably be in NBA discussion. I would move it there myself, but I do not know how. But how do you have the username Shaqfu and not have a 300lb 7'1" monster in your top 3? BTW, Mike Bibby might be in his physical prime right now.
I feel like Shaq, even in his physical prime, would be kinda slow? Remember that missed hay-maker on Brad Miller?
All-time? Charles Oakley - authority, the muscle Ron Artest - all around physicality, good hands, generally quiet but can flip the crazy switch at any moment Vernon Maxwell - speed, instigator, will strike first Todays NBA? I need to think about this. These guys grew up idolizing KG, so the pickins are slim.
Agreed. I have a sneaking suspicion that Shaq isn’t a fighter. More of an uncontested bully. The punch he threw at Miller was suspect too, he tried to connect with the palm side of his fist. Charles Barkley went right at Shaq with no hesitation. Barkley got slapped in the mouth by Oakley and did nothing.
