just a thought, but what if they canceled the season and started up 20-21 with teams having the same records as they did at the end of the 19-20 season?

We have to start from scratch. Just cancel the ASW and play best of 5 between Lakers and Bucks for this years Championship :)

I honestly wonder if they would go so far as to do a 4 team playoff? Top 2 records in each conference play a 3 game series. 5 game series for the finals. I think you could actually pull that off.

many will protest that... they just need to make it best of 3 across the board

Would we rather completely lose the season or have some sort of closure? The more teams, the messier it gets. This is an unprecedented situation.

Don’t try and make up anything, just wait til all is clear and start fresh. (I still don’t give the Spurs credit for their short season championship in ‘99. Duncan has 4 rings, not 5.) That’s my fan perspective. But this is a business, so anyway they can squeeze a buck will probably prevail.

Jaguar, with all due respect - they won the ring and Duncan has 5 rings. Simple as that. Your "fan perspective" really doesn't mean much here.

Apparently Silver is saying they won't make a decision until May, which I actually find encouraging. It means we get at least another 24 days of optimism. If they had to make that call today, they probably scrap the whole thing.

Don’t need that response from you. It’s my perspective and your disrespect is taken.

If I'm being honest, I look at Duncan's 1st ring just like any other ring. Of course, I'm of the opinion the NBA should be around 50-60 games or so anyway. No one watches the NBA regular season for the first couple months except die-hards like us. I wouldn't mind seeing them go to an EPL style schedule where every team plays everyone twice (home and away). That'd be 58 regular season games, just about the right amount.

I'm optimistic we'll start back up in August and crown a champion by mid to late September and not miss a beat for next season, or at the very least delay it a couple of weeks.

Would hate to see almost an entire season go to waste (also considering our narrow championship window).

That is, of course, if the virus dies down with all our efforts and there's no second wave or anything.

Dude, you are saying it like it is for you, and he is saying it like it is for him. I don't see any disrespect and I agree with him. You don't need that from him?? Heck he could easily say that right back at ya!
