I'm thrilled with this pickup. He's a solid all around player and even more important IMO... Markieff is tough AF. We needed toughness and enforcers in the playoffs almost as much as we needed a backup PG. We just got much tougher with this acquisition.
Looking at that comparison between them with the letter grades he’s a much better fit. Much better defender on perimeter and down low, much better back to basket game and playmaker and much better cutter and moving without the ball. Plus he is slightly taller of the two and a little bit heavier ... like 8-10 lbs (?). Marcus shoots 3s at a little higher % this year, is a better offensive rebounder and not much more.
Despite his averages over his career, I hope not. This team should be good enough by then to not need him to play that much, except the Finals.
How awkward will it be for Marcus to see his brother go at it with Harrell and Beverley. Or flip that and say Dwight versus Marcus. You know it’s bound to happen. The story lines for this series will be top level drama.

Technically, yes. However, I am sure his agent has politely informed other teams he prefers the Lakers.
Anyone remember the conspiracy theory a couple seasons ago where Markieff was on the wizards and sprained his ankle during the playoffs, only to play as good as new the next game? The theory was that Marcus took his place in the game and nobody can tell the difference because they even have identical tattoos.... This could totally happen again since they are now both in LA lol.
