I get why Lebron had to say something, he's going for this bigger than sports role which has happened historically but there's nothing to say that would have been beneficial to anyone.

This is a political mess and I hate that one of my escapes is being dragged into it.

Lebron was in a no-win situation. Whatever he said was gonna be the wrong answer. This too shall pass.

He would have been bashed for leaving it alone too. No win situation, which is one of the ramifications he is likely alluding to.

Let's just be honest and realize it is *all* about the benjamins. An article in Silver Screen and Roll about how Kuzma et al lost endorsement dollars during their trip. Lebron is upset because Morey screwed with his rice bowl. Cry me a river.

Honestly, why do any of the NBA players NEED to have a take on any problems in China?? The league has chosen to do business over there, despite all these problems for years. This shiiit is NOT new. Hong Kong has been in this situation since 1997, the very moment that China took control back from British rule. China has been a totalitarian state for as long as any of us can fathom. Why is it all of a sudden, on Lebron to fix it and say the right thing?? If the NBA wants to put a stop to all this, then they should cancel their business arrangement with China and ban all personal contracts that players can have with the country of China. Screw it. If they don't want to do that, then WTF is Lebron or any other player supposed to do about it or with it?

Thing is though, China just sucks. The Chinese people who side with the government are currying favor, elitism and financial incentives. If anyone in America is going to do business in China, they are aware of the situation and covet the money more than the political correctness. Not necessarily a bad thing but not a great thing either. A situation that will ALWAYS have people in America that will find fault in it. Personally, I think we should ban all things Chinese to the best of our ability and work towards being more self sufficient and try to put ourselves in a position of not relying on anything from China.

Frankly, America is kind of full of krap on all this stuff with China. America wants the best of all possible outcomes and none of them will ever be within reach. We have just spent nearly 4 years with one party wanting to do nothing more than get rid of our president, have they even considered any policies regarding China, let alone the middle east or even south of the border? Our country is going to hell because the people we have elected are more interested in hate mongering that coming up with real solutions to real problems. How can the NBA foster a real solution when our government has no ability to do so?

Quit trying to blame stuff like this on athletes, nobody else knows how to deal with this stuff either!!
Bunch of people with high horses and no solution who simply take a side, no matter how problematic it is.

Hong Kong is part of China, they want to keep it running like it is for the most part because they are making a ton of money from it. The people in Hong Kong that don't want to be part of mainland China have a real problem. We didn't settle the dang country, blame that on the British. Why are we paying for all this?? I didn't cash that check, not my problem. I have some sympathy for the people from Hong Kong, but have no solution for them. If it was me, I would consider going somewhere else before it is too late.

The problem with the Lebron's of the world outside their profession is they hate the very same thing they are.

Lebron, Robert Deniro, Popocrap, Alec Baldwin, all have the same temperament and ego and act the same way as Donald Trump, yet they denounce him as if he is some Hitler figure.

Steve Kerr might be the only one with any creditability who speaks against certain political landscapes with the current political climate.

Lebron should just shut up and play basketball. We get it, you are special and open up schools. Those people love you because you gave s*** for free. Everyone loves the guy who gives s*** for free. Doesn't matter if its Lebron or some nobody on the street.

Take care of stuff at home first. Did Bron help companies look offshore for cheap labor or has that been happening? Who changes that, ball players or diplomats/politicians? Who we want Bron to be...Rodman?

Ali has been brought up as an exemplary political athlete, but was he concerned about war and the socioeconomic construct of the military before they decided to draft him? Once it involved him, he championed the cause.

Do you and what’s familiar to you....and do it to its fullest. The world has way too many f***ed up problems to half a** each issue.

Just seen the interview LeBron did from last night about China. Why does it seem like he's speaking about the situation got him scared. Like he, the Lakers and Nets got threatened by the Chinese government.

Because his people told him you lost millions in endorsements. Once you take away someone's money, right away they dont want to talk politics.

Guess endorsements was the real reason why the Lakers played like crap in China but was playing well again the preseason against the Warriors back in the states like it's no sweat.
