he's probably going to be good for 50-60 games a year at this point, and it goes down from there.

He's a generational player, but despite HGH and Steroids (Allegedly), he's still just human.

 

yeah, his thinking behind pursuing the third star was definitely about him knowing that he's a 60-game per year player now, and that the playoffs will require resting throughout the season if he's going to be top-tier.

still think that had he not taken the extension, he could have signed for close to cp3 money which would have allowed us to outright sign kyrie and still have some stuff in the chamber to work in the margins.

not that i'd be enthusiastic about it; just pointing out that he kinda foiled his own plan.

 

His extension is absurd. He doesn't need the money and it took us any chance to build a competitive team around him and AD that would not only allow us to challenge for the title but also, and more importantly, build it in a way that we could manage his load.

That and his push to trade for Russ took us out of any title contention.
He's one of the 3 best ever and I'm glad he came because we had no visible path to glory at the time but he also cost us the last 3 years of his contract

 

yeah, i'm fine with the cost. getting that ring after being where we were was pretty important from a big picture perspective.

but that doesn't mean i'm not going to grumble about our current position.

though he got us AD, too, which still may pay some future dividends. we'll have to see about that one.
