More props for Lebron. Many see him having a great year, but I'm only cautiously optimistic.

We’ll win the championship if Lebron can carry this team like Kobe did after the 2008 lost to Boston.

We are going to win the championship. The good news being LeBron is capable of carrying the team but won't have to because of the tremendous talent around him. Also good news for the good guys is that LeBron seems to be intent on establishing himself again as the leagues best player. Going to so much enjoy payback to my anti Laker friends for the past few years.

Either this is Space for them to Jam or Tamper'n with the Fam.

Let's entertain the latter. Melo into the 15 roster slot is all that is necessary for that scenario.

As for Cp3, we need 30.7m in outgoing salary to make that happen in December...so with Kcp (full bird), Rondo & Mcgee (early bird) having to all consent on a trade (ie they all have de-facto no trade clauses), a package of Green/Kcp/AvBrad/McGee gets it done...or you can swap out AvBrad or Mcgee and replace them with Rondo/Cook. Also Cp3's 2yr deal fits under the GiannisPlan if he agrees to opt out of the final year as part of the deal.

I know you are just laying out the nuts and bolts financially but otherwise F*** all that. Giving up all those guys for that short little troll with that awful salary would suck the proverbial BIG ONE. Collectively they are worth more towards a chip than him regardless.

True...but if a deal like that were to happen, it would be in December at the earliest and that means roster spots works need to be taken in account for. So it wouldn't be just Cp3/Melo for Green/Kcp/AvBrad/whoever. We would still have to get our roster to 15.

As of right now, Okc is at 13 and are roughly 700k under the luxury tax. They HAVE to add an additional player to their roster before opening night and seeing how the absolute minimum salary they can add is about 900k, they would be in the luxury tax by a little and since they are a repeat offender, they get more of a punitive tax hit. All that could be avoided if they shed salary via Cp3. Also they have 3 minimum deals on their roster and could trade then into our empty roster spots in conjunction with a potential Cp3 deal.

So again, it wouldn't be just cp3. How about a Muscala reunion haha?

Okc could make very minor moves to avoid lux tax—all while keeping cp out of la!

    Define minor...

Although I agree that Cp3 to LA is a long shot, I don't think it will be as minor a move for Okc as one would think.

OKC needs a minimum 14 man roster to start the season. So they got to add one more by then. Adding one more, even at the bare minimum, places them into the tax (even with the Patterson buyout).

Waiving/stretching a player (like Patterson) means they still got to add a player to get to the minimum roster. Since all their minor contracts are either minimum deals or rookies, they can only really stretch Roberson's expiring deal, Shroeder's 2 year deal or Gallo's expiring deal. Roberson seems the most likely, but I wouldn't consider about 3.5m of dead cap for the next 3 years as minor. They would have to decide on who to stretch of those 3 by the end of the month.

So it would have to be a trade and that trade can't really involve swapping their minimum deals (cause even swapping Mus for 1m less in salary pins them right at the luxury tax theshold) or rookie deals (like Ferguson, SGA and Baz)...so that would entail either swapping an injured Roberson at the very least for a MLE type player (8.8m) or 2 other players that aggregate to about the mle amount in salary.

All of this could have been avoided had they salary dumped Patterson in the George trade. It's wild just how badly Presti was leveraged in all this, when essentially he had all the power.

Muscala for lower salary scrub, add a 2nd if need be. Dallas has space/TE. Maybe all too? And they have months to do it, right?

They do got months, but they got to hold 14 on the roster during that time.

Let's say they add a 1 season vet min contract (1.4m) to get to 14, then theyre roughly 800k past the tax theshold.

Now they go to all their vet min deals and only Mus's 2m vet min can be swapped out for a lower vet min deal. But seeing how even a 1 yr tenured guy demands a 1.4m contract, swapping Mus for that type of deal still has OKC in the tax.

They would have to exclusively target rookie vet mins like THT (900k) and since Magic is out this b**** and Rob learned his lesson (hopefully), I just don't see Mus bringing back a young asset anymore haha.

Do you actually find enjoyment in the minutiae of what would be involved in bringing CP the ahole 2 to the Lakers? What are you up to?
