yeah, part of it has been bad luck, but it does suck that it took half the season to realize that we needed some young legs on the floor.

watch: next offseason we'll bring in no vets, just to maintain our overcorrecting brand.

    probably belongs in optimism thread.

love: "it's an oddly constructed team, but there's something in there that could and should work."

Yeah, let’s have the guy literally putting up better numbers than when he was dominating the NBA in his twenties for a dude who clanks jumpers OFF THE TOP OF THE FREAKING BACKBOARD, misses layups more than any player throughout the history of the NBA, and refuses to play any defense whatsoever when off ball.
    Great winning formula!

Funny you should say that, when our current formula has us at .500… Lebron’s numbers don’t mean much if they don’t come with enough winning.

Trying to get more out of Russ and asking Lebron to do a little bit less night in and night out at 37 doesn’t seem so foolish to me. It was the actual reason why we traded for him.

how do we get more from Russ when he can’t score from anywhere on the court? Lebron has to score more to make up for that and he’s doing it very efficiently.

hopefully with AD on the verge of returning, Lebron can do less offensively but more defensively.

That was the plan, but it only works if Russ can shoot a decent percentage from the floor. To this date he has not.
Also, since LeBron has been very efficient on the offensive end, and our team’s biggest issue is their abysmal defense, you would think a guy with Russ’ athleticism would want to help the TEAM out by giving maximum effort on D. The opposite has occurred. This is the biggest reason why he’s a selfish player and needs to be dumped this summer.

Russ gets a lot of heat for shot selection but Lebron deserves some scrutiny for his shot selection too. 32% from 3 in this 2022 Jan month and he goes 1/8 from 3. Need to cut 3s down.

We're only going to go as far as he takes us though. I'm actually glad he's not saying he's looking to defer to AD like he has in the past couple years. For us to have a chance, he's going to have to keep going full tilt and AD is going to have to elevate his play far past anything we've seen from him so far this season.

He’s playing “better” now. Let’s hope even more so when AD is back but I doubt it as that would entail shooting better consistently too. At least he’s turning in low turnover games and making more layups at the rim and visibly busting his a** out there. Aside from what we wished he would do off the ball on D.

He’s basically admitting he’s chasing stats with that lame denial.

As long as he remains efficient he should keep looking for his shot. With AD out, we don't really have any other options other than Monk whose been more quiet lately.

A TS of 61.5% is elite.

When we're getting blown out, and he's still in the game?

We've been down a lot. I'd have to refresh my memory.

Otherwise? Russ hasn't helped for much of the season, and 4 of our rotation players haven't seen time in how long?

    I can't blame him.

Man, just going over our roster depresses me.

    he's going for kareem's all-time scoring record

but still, he's playing great basketball and it's a damn shame this roster sucks so bad because it's all going to waste

Regardless of who or what he's chasing, doing THIS at his age is something I'm not sure we'll see from anyone for a verrrrrry long time.

    Enjoy it while it lasts.

All these comparisons are kind of silly. They don’t take into account that he mainly plays one side of the ball and picks his moments to really use his energy. He is playing incredible and the best at 37 to ever do it. But 27 year old Lebron is going at 37 year old Lebron and coming out on top over 48 minutes.
