You make good points. But still you will see plenty of this:

At least we're only paying him the minimum so not much downside.

This is a sneaky good signing.

    He will be good here.

I'm good with this signing. I know he's a Shaqtin a Fool regular...but JaVale is sneaky good for us because he can switch onto perimeter players...not to mention offensively he's pretty good as the roll man and LeBron/Lonzo can throw lobs to him all day.

He's a decent rim protector as well...solid 15-20 minute guy

When was the last time "Javale McGee" and "dominant" were used in the same sentence? :D

The thing about Javale is that he actually learned to play his role, in which was to stay open, rebound, and protect the paint.

Nothing more. Yes, he may have a slip here or there, but you get what you pay for.

He’ll be a hell of a lot better than what Tristan Thompson brought last year.

Well as long as he can count better than me (TIME's still not impressed), that checks off one of my boxes.

And LABron giving us more quality gifs/memes like this is another box checked off!

Agreed. Only thing Tristan Thompson brought last year was multiple illegitimate children.

Lol, man I would be mad to. Had one of his best games ever and JR screws it up. George Hill misses two free throws as well.... A chance to go up 1-0 on the warriors. Luckily we don't have any JR Smith types here right Lance?

He mentioned playing time, we probably offered him the starting job. Or at least more than 10-15 mpg.

Saying all the right things at least. Amazing how just knowing and embracing what you can do/your role will do for a player.

Respect to JaVale for not staying and ring chasing, and even just going somewhere and taking a big contract. He came here on a minimum contract, with his championship experience, and taking on a challenge of being a bigger contributor and still has goals of being successful and wanting to go up against GS.

We can harp on his old days of missteps in the past, but has a lot of tools we need at Center if he sticks to his role. Rebound, protect the paint, and be a target inside.
