This question isn't about who you'd give up in a trade in the case of a player under contract, but rather who would be the best fit with the core Lakers personnel (LeBron, Ball, Kuzma and Ingram if he ins't traded).

Klay easily, best off-ball/shooter in the bunch, would help Ingram slide back to his natural position of SF if Kuzma is willing to go back to the bench.

You didn’t say Hart. Or future HOF’er Zubac.

Are you really a Laker fan?

And welcome. It’s a bit unusual for a first time poster to start a topic with their first post. Expect everyone to be suspicious.

I was a member at clublakers.com for a long time but I didn't migrate my profile over due to procrastination.

I would say the missing piece to the puzzle, based on those players/positions mentioned, would have to be AD. He’s the only center in the group.

If we only added him, we’d be in great shape.

But he doesn't want to be a center.

That’s right. Well none of the other dudes are really PF’s either. Either way then, someone is going to the bench.

Davis, because he’s a big, blocks shots, can score inside and from 3. Kawhi is too much like LeBron, seems like he needs to and should be the main focus of an offense, Durant is too ball dominant and too much of an iso player like LeBron. Butler I’d gladly take in free agency, but there’s the risk of him becoming unhappy. And Klay, much as I like him, is too streaky in that he can catch on absolute fire for a game or a monstrous quarter, but as this year shows he can go on long slumps or like in the past shrink for entire playoff series. Davis is the most consistent here outside of Durant, but again, I think because he’s a big he fits best, there’s no redundancy with him and what we already have here. Of course if any one of those players wanted to sign here this offseason I’m not saying no, I take any one of them, two of them if possible.

Klay would fit, but I would question his motivation after winning it 3 times. He's going to be after money now, he's not a Kobe/Lebron type who's going to warrant competitive play.

I AD choose AD due to hunger. He wants it bad and there's no deny the level of talent he has. Right now, everyone but Kuz is on the table for me in terms of who I'd package. I want it now.

with Draymond AND Randle we could do some serious small ball lineups, and our free throws would actually.....

I agree. He's the perfect SoCal person when it comes to personality and chill vibes. Not to mention he fits perfect with what we want. 1) A shooter 2) A Defender to guard the best perimeter player 3) Clutch under pressure 4) Great Teammate.

Anthony Davis is a close 2nd. I think he compliments LBJ very nicely as well and gives us another way to win games from the post which is nice to have. Just can score in a variety of ways too. Just needs to stay healthy which has been an issue off and on.

AD is a no.1 choice by a MILE. I like Klay but he'll be overpaid.

It's just a shame that we'll have to trade for AD and give up pieces and can't wait to just sign him out right

I don't think Klay has the mentality to be an alpha dog. He's great with lots of talent around him, and when he gets hot, he's among the best to have ever played, but I don't think he'll ever be "the man"

We NEED that kind of guy around an aging and declining Lebron. No knock on him, but he'll need someone to take over. I don't see Klay ever filling that kind of role. "Give it to me Bron, I got this"

I could see AD, Durant, Kawai, Butler, those guys doing that.
