Im happy for Vogel. Some people will still brush it off as he had a talented team that run itself but thats so far from the truth. He's done a remarkable job.

eh, ask those people how doc rivers did with that. i'm not sure vogel is a master motivator or even one of the league's best tacticians. but he led one of the tightest locker rooms in the league, got everyone to buy into roles and not grumble, had the respect of his stars, and delivered the goods. that's not nothing.

I think what was most impressive with Vogel, other than the defense that he got this team to commit to playing, was just how well he had his finger on the pulse of this team. We had the best, closest team and locker room. No leaks, no drama, every player becoming get bubble cheerleaders. Every adjustment he made this post season paid huge dividends.

There were so many distractions this year that tore lesser teams apart. We never crumbled, but it made the team closer. You can say a lot of that is Bron, 'Do, and the vets. But it doesn't work if there's not a strong coaching staff that garners respect from the squad.

Everybody has a plan till somebody hits you in the face. Mike Tyson said that. I feel Vogel was able to get our team to buy in on defense and was genuine and up front enough for people to trust him. For example he was able to send the message to win for Kobe without it seeming opportunist or patronizing. He was able to get the respect of tough vets, you don't get love from Playoff Rondo if you don't know a thing or too. He also was able to show trust in his team enough so that players could accept if not understand or love why role changes occurred.

In a (very) strange way his treatment of Danny Green exemplified this. He gave him trust and yet pulled him in a recent fourth quarter.

He played Howard after pulling him against the Rockets, and in the end gave Howard a run, and Howard GOT A THREE. Ok not quite Kobe passed me the ball and I got a three Artest but it shows is attention to his teams feelings.

Even playing THT for a little bit against the Rockets (?)

Will love getting him back with an offensive minded offensive assistant coach and we are golden. Purple and Golden.

Did not know he would be this good at all. Just did not want Fool's Gold Lue at all. Like Melo LMA and calcifying Kawhai it is the players and staff you miss out on that sometimes help you win (the bullets you dodge).

Huge props to Vogel and our coaching staff. They did a fantastic job emphasizing defense and getting our guys to buy in all the way. I'm so glad we have him as our HC.

Frank Vogel: most properly rated coach ever?

Indy: young PG, good defense, good depth = ECF
    Orlando: trash team, trash result
Lakers: 2 MVP candidates = #1 in the West, 16-5 playoff record, title in the first year

I mean, it's the players who run in the sneakers and make the shots right?

Congrats Frank. There were a million ways to screw this up. But he made some good moves, some bad ones and ended up with a title. That last part is no accident. It's a huge feat and a job well done.

I'm happy for him , seems like a good dude who get TRASHED on during his press conference and before the season began by medias for no logical reason( because he was the 3rd choice, Kidd will quickly takeover blah blah blah)

Great defensive coach , starting lineups and rotations adjustments during the playoffs when needed , ran a drama free locker room all season long

That’s my thought as well. He took a group of guys with different personalities and several thought to be on their last legs and made it work. Well done coach.

Frank was the right coach at the right time. His game to game playoff adjustments were a thing of beauty. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating, I’m so glad Ty Lue turned us down.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lue doesn't get picked for any of the HC vacant positions including the Clips where he just spent a year. Think he is the right guy for the pressure a pissed off Ballmer is going to put on that team, however it looks next year? The guy is looking at his billions being spent on buying the media, the Forum to demolish it and the new arena which could turn into a monument for failure. A little surprised though if he does land a gig but just "meh" on expectations for his performance with no LBJ on his roster.

And he's a "players' coach". Never quit on any of his guys. Well .... except for maybe Bubble Cheese. Cook got no run in the playoffs either. You need to play some semblance of decent defense to see any time on the floor for him once it gets time to be serious in the playoffs.
