    awesome read

pop has always been pure class and a stand up guy. this shows just one reason why the spurs have been the class of the league for two decades now under his leadership

It's a good read, but even if Popovich will spend a few millions for one dinner , they're not going to win anything anymore.

I love how he "interferes" with our moves from the shadows. So sinister with sabotage.

So .... Pop is a whino?

Wish the Lakers had a coach who loved wine that much (and the magic and bonds formed at these legendary team dinners).

Yes that is a great read, thanks! The guy is the best coach in NBA history.

I agree. Pop is the greatest coach ever. He has evolved with the league. He has won with different styles. He has adapted and survived despite being in a small market.

Pop is a great coach, but...

Could not disagree more. Pure class? Pure class doesn’t whine and complain about your big rival behind the scenes to the powers that be. Pure class doesn’t remain bitter 20 years later for thrashings endured by that rival. Pure class doesn’t try to interfere with that rivals FA business or coaching hires.

Bitter and cranky. 70 and enabled to act like a complete a**, but there is no denying he’s one of the best of all time.

Seems petty to discourage others from looking at Laker positions, but he’s made an art form out of making his “opinions” heard.

he's the best coach of all time--i really can't hear much of an argument. and he seems like a good human being in general. but he does have a weird petty streak.

    people are complicated. pobody's nerfect.

If you were GM of the Lakers, I would hope you would do everything in your power to undermine the C Bags at every turn. That would not only make you classy, it would make you legend.

that cracks me up that "that" passes as news. Here's a one sentence unsubstantiated rumor for a headine with no beef with it. Why even publish that crap?

Realgm has really fallen on hard times. There was a time I went there first for basketball news, and now I don't even think of them.
