Thought it would be fun to follow the updates of a potential 2021 Superstar Free agent who is available. December 21, 2020. What do you guys think, he signs it? How far you see the Bucks going? -PG - J. Holiday, D.J. Augustin - SG - D. DiVincenzo, P. Connaughton, B. Forbes, S. Merrill - SF - K. Middleton, J. Nwora, T. Craig, T. Antetokounmpo - PF - G. Antetokounmpo, B. Portis, D.J. Wilson - C - B. Lopez
Until we see how good KD is post injury or where Harden ends up, you have to at least pencil them into the ECF. I think a it stands, if both teams are 100% and there's no fans, the Heat are still better. I can't see him leaving. They mortgaged everything to get Holiday for him. That's a lot to give up without assurances. Can't wait till he signs so the rest of the league can move on and end their Giannis plan.
I don’t see why they go for Holiday if he hasn’t hinted he will sign it, although the Bogdanovic situation was ridiculous.
I can't speak for Giannis but yeah, I think the Bogdanovich thing was a huge fail. If I were him there is zero chance I would sign that supermax extension, not only for that of course, but because he has a chance to go basically anywhere next. I'd leave that one on the table and take my chances.
Just for the LOLs, I'd love to see Giannis change management to Klutch sports and watch the meltdown all over the internet
i mean, if the holiday deal was done with his blessing AND was supposed to be in connection with the extension....why isn't it signed? i think a lot of people just assumed things. but it's pretty clear bucks management isn't exactly hitting on all cylinders, so isn't it possible they just hoped this would keep him instead of knew it. people thought mitch knew FAs were coming, but he didn't. he hoped.
Seeing how much criticism that KD gets for joining the Warriors, I can't imagine the vitriol if Giannis teams up with Lebron and AD.
Yeah, it will never happen. One star maybe. Two? He’s the reigning MVP. I don’t see him pulling a Durant, Durant was fed up with Westbrook.
The Thunder were up 3-1 to a 73 win team. Ended up losing and he joined the opponent. KD took the easy way to a title. If we beat the Bucks in the Finals and Giannis joined us, I get the backlash. Otherwise, everyone in America understand leaving Milwaukee for LA.
Still the easy way out for a superstar. Anyone who joins us will be overshadowed by Lebron’s shadow. I don’t see him volunteering for that unless Lebron shows obvious decline.
...or...lebron takes a big paycut, indicating a back seat (whether it happens or not) and making it easier for giannis to claim succession rather than addition. again, i don't think this is a great plan, but that's the way it happens--taking the mantle. the kareem parallels...
right. i'll be surprised if giannis stays in milwaukee long-term, in part because people look back and be like...middleton and bledsoe were his high-salaried teammates? then an aging holiday? how'd he stay that long? btw, this is why i think dallas gambled on porzingis--they didn't want luka to be looking at dwight powell and seth curry or something and thinking that was what was going to be happening for the duration of his career. at least porzingis's upside is a game-changing player with all-nba potential. middleton is nice--don't get me wrong--but it's not the same.
