I wonder if Dwight has some lingering breathing or stamina issues from Covid and that’s why he didn’t play last night.

Yeah I said it a couple times that made the most sense. I doubt with what we were facing Fiz just chose not to play him.

Clearly THT wasn't ready either and we were more concerned with perimeter depth than front court depth.

After McGee burned us for 8 in a row and Dwight wasn't heading th the scorers table, I figured he wasn't ready.

He should remain in the starting lineup the rest of the year even when AD returns.

This seems like such an obvious choice to me. Glad they are giving it a go.

There is no better center at spreading the floor than Dwight Howard with his amazing 3 ball.

I don’t have any idea why we keep playing this no center lineups but it’s killing us.

Its not just the defense which is obviously lacking (I'm being kind) when Melo at center.

Having a lob threat really opened up the offense now that the Lakers have Monk back. It didn't work having a center in the lineup earlier in the year as they had no shooting. Having shooting and a lob threat made it so easy for Lebron and Russ as the defense couldn't sag off Monk and if they closed too strong it left Dwight with the lob. I'm a Russ hater but you took away his outlet guy from him for the entire 4th

IDK..I'm still confused on why we signed Dwight and Jordan in the first place. We obviously didn't plan on playing the traditional bigs much time. The Westbrook trade was made on draft night, so we already knew what type of attack we were looking to run. It's a curious thing.

if the staff dont see benefits of playing traditional C, why not waive em and sign more 6'6 guards to play C

Guessing the 3 off ball fouls that I believe were on consecutive plays.

The lob game with Russ was great. He was a deterrent at the rim some, the fouls are killers against a good FT shooting team.

I agree it's better than playing a gassed Melo at the 5, but Dwight is not the answer either. Hopefully the buyout market has a backup center available. Then we can move Dwight to 3rd string and dump or trade DJ.

dwight's 15-20mpg player at this point. dj is a -12mpg player. we needed to do better with our center options in FA, and there were possibilities instead of dj that we ignored because...i don't know.

Based on what we look for from our bigs, I make a hard push for McGee (killing it this year) or RoLo

i really think they're more of the same for the most part. neither can defend in space or play away from the basket on offense. one dwight/mcgee/rolo type, and one dieng or even damian jones type would be my preference. truth is, most games at least one center shouldn't play at all.

Not matching Dieng with Howard was dumb. They tried to recreate the bubble magic with DAJ who was just bad if anyone actually bothered to watch him play last year.
Team doesn't really like matchup versatility a lot.

Dwight is as good of a backup center as you'll find in the league plus who could guess a multiple time dpoy would shore up your defense?

Having a true lob threat has opened up the offense as well the last few games we've run Dwight
