    (Howard + Jordan) > (Howard + McGee) > (Gasol + Drummond).

Don’t know about that. McGee makes his throws, and Howard+McGee already won us a ring.

I just think that the more alley oop, pick & roll + rim defender / rebounder / energy guys at the Center position we have, the better.
Love McGee & Gasol.. but really like this combo's strength & athleticism.
LeBron, Westbrook, Rondo & Tucker all easily make plays for active big men & it makes them more dangerous 1 on 1... I like this pick up.

Takes some load off of AD as well.

McGee is better than Jordan at those things at this stage of their careers - especially setting picks, rim defence, rebounding and as an energy guy. That's not a slight to Jordan, he is just fairly inactive unless he is jumping to catch an alley oop.

Uggh, :( not exactly a ringing endorsement either, only expending energy on offense. Still, I think we can hope that Vogel and this group of teammates can pull more out of him, once again, on the other side of the ball. :)

The style of defense wasn't fitting for him in Brooklynn imo. If we're not gonna be switching on defense it'll be a better fit for Jordan along with we habe an actual defensive scheme that works. Not saying he's gonna be a world beater but he should fit better in our scheme with his limited minutes. He may have more opportunity here to stay closer to the basket and deter attacks at the rim as well

^^ The alley oop threat was something we were desperately missing last year compared to 2020.
Having either Howard, Jordan or AD in the game at any time makes us a constant lob threat.

I'm not super concerned. At the end of the day he is a third or fourth stringer. AD will get a lot of time at the 5 as he makes us significantly better when he is there. Howard is still a good defender and if Gasol stays he is a better defender and adds more to the offensive side.

Jordan is like Harrell in my eyes. Eat up a ton of regular season minutes to preserve AD for the playoffs. He's AD insurance.

Would've loved to keep Marc but with so many ball handlers not sure how we would have utilized his greatest asset of passing.

Technicalities. Just has to clear waivers. Nobody is volunteering for that bloated salary just to keep him away from us.
