Didn't think he was cooked as the Nets suggested. Just didn't fit there with what was being asked of him. Our two headed monster looked damn good out there. Rondo played a hand in that. The elite timing and precision on those lobs, including the half court one for DJ's 1 handed jam.
He'll be good in limited minutes. Honestly, he still has some game left and we're not asking him to do too much. As LT mentioned earlier - "Two great passes and two great catches and throw downs …" -- yeah, that's it. Be a vertical threat on both ends. He clearly showed that he can still do it. When people say that "he is cooked," sure, his days of 13 points and 15 rebounds are gone, but... no one here is expecting him to do that. He seems to to form a good tandem with Dwight so far.
He's so slow getting back from end to end: Drummond flash backs. He's been a lob threat on the secondary break at times but overall just so slow The difference is glaring between him and AD/Dwight as those two can just fly
I know he's the most hated player on the roster by most Laker fans, but the performance deserves some acknowledgment. 12 & 11 in only 15 minutes with the second best +/-, only behind Bron. I think he'll do fine in his role here and stand by that I don't think he's nearly as cooked as he looked with the Nets. He didn't fit their scheme and will be fine in ours.
regular season came and the effort was as meh as pre season, remember a segment where he was underneath the basket on def with russ/bron next to him and they still gave up 2-3 offensive rebs in succesion eventually leading to wide open 3pt shot by gsw
looks like a ghost and i cant complain bout this guy? you get to start. play and act like you want it, like Howard
Fine, my point was pretty much “everything” about the team so far in every thread with a few exceptions. Just a throw away observation/comment and like I said you’re entitled to feel however.
thered only 2 guys i dont like on the team this bum and the the ninja turtle, yes im not optimistic person unless i see positive signs which i haven't with either of these 2
not a starter...need to play him situationally like when AD or Dwight get into foul trouble - can't be playing any meaningful minutes at this point in his career
Ideally he's not a starter and I don't think he would be if Ariza was healthy. But since we have to go with a traditional lineup for now, he's going to be the guy. AD played around 22 minutes at C in game one and I think that's the play for now. He'll keep playing there more than he will at PF, but until we have a front court option, he'll probably start at PF during the regular season. Dwight can't start. Fouls waaaay too much and Vogel loves his energy as the backup big.
i watched gorgui dieng last night, and i still think he's better than drummond and dj. made jumpers, made good passes from the top of the key, and defended. we passed on him twice.
Once we get some guards back off IR we need to bench DJ. Start 2 guards/wings with Lebron Russ and AD. We are too clunky with DJ starting.
