Give it a game or even a poor half of a game and he will "suck" again. LMAO frequently at the what have you done for me last 2 games mentality.
Came up BIG on both ends and really frustrated Harden last night - I think he deflected like 5 or 6 balls last night and stripped Harden and Westbrook countless times. Hit timely shots as well. Loved it
Damn it Danny Green! You showed something last night and stopped perpetrating the mild fraud that was your effort and effectiveness for most of this season. I hope/we need him to continue this. He looked switched on. His movements look a little labored at times maybe he has a niggling injury or he found a pair of Lonzo's old BBB shoes in his locker and they are tapping out his mojo. I am as ever optimistic.
Lots of talk about Danny Green's poor performance shooting the ball compared to what we expected but I think it's also appropriate to applaud him for the good things he has done. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/greenda02/gamelog/2020/ He has only had 8 games where he had a negative +/-. That's an awesome stat considering he hasn't been the best version of himself. Granted, he does play most of his minutes alongside Bron but at least they work well together. My only issue with Green is his consistency and then part 2 is we overpaid him by 3-4 million dollars. Would have been so much better for us if he was paid $10,000,000 per year... And don't get me started with that Luol Deng stretched contract that will absorb $5 million of our salary every season for the next three seasons. I hate the guy so much!
For two more seasons after this... https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/LAL.html So frustrating. He basically robbed the Lakers and every offseason, we are reminded about how we could have used that $5 million to grab a player who can truly help us.. thanks Luol Deng. NOT!
He's shown up against some of the biggest competition we've had when the regular season lights have been the brightest. To me, that's a good sign for the playoffs.
Really solid 3rd Q for Green with those 3 triples. Good to see the whole team hitting the 3 ball that well on the road -- 50%.
Green when he is on hitting 3's is amazing in his timing with often catching passes simultaneously with, and even before while in the air still, his 2 feet together landings stopping forward motion and then instant back up elevations to shoot. Crazy how quickly he gets his shots off.
Great game against the Nets and then no shows this one. He didn't make any 3's and more then a few were very good looks and a turnstile against these bigger wings. Frustrating he played Simmons up close instead of laying back and baiting him into a jumpshot (no scouting report??) He's a frustrating one: good enough to be playoff rotation player but not trustworthy enough to pencil him into the closing lineup every night.
I agree with all that, but to be fair, he should not be guarding people who are 3 inches taller and 20-30 lbs heavier. He's just not being able to handle them, despite being good defender.
I’ll add to that list that he shouldn’t be guarding people that run at a normal pace. I always feel like this guys knees are at the tipping point of shattering. I am still a fan of his defensive b-ball IQ though.
