He's best when he leans into the three. The shots he is taking are wide open and completely make-able. The relief in all of this is knowing that we are winning games with a Danny Green who hasn't played well for us. He's also on some weird fouling sprees. Not sure why the guy gets so many dumb fouls for someone who played for the Spurs. There were more than a few plays where he fouls for no apparent reason. But as others have said across the Lakers universe, Danny Green is here for his veteran championship experience. If he can provide us 25-30 solid minutes in the playoffs and we win a championship, his contract will be more than worth it.
I knew he wasn't going to give us what he gave TOR last year which was 46% 3pt but closer to 40% would be appreciated.
He will. What most on the outside don't know is that Lakers FO and coaches and players all "lurk" on LB. In spite of SM downplaying importance of lurkers. And all of them fear @Cookie . Who just laid it out for him a couple days ago.
With Caruso's and KCP's emergence maybe time to start looking to see what's available for his contract. There is a glut at guard and a straight swap for someone like Covington actually works. The guard rotation would still be solid with Bradley/Caruso/Rondo/KCP and it would give more depth with size with Kuzma and Covington. Minnesota may consider this as they get out of Covington's 4 year deal for Green's 2 year deal
Yeah, nice to see Danny Green get hot again. Hopefully that will continue especially for the Xmas game.
people guard green, which is the main value. if they stop guarding him, then we have issues. note that he had almost twice as many open looks at the same time last year, too. that's a scheme issue. or the fact that nobody fears our other guards doing anything.
Told you guys Cookie telling him to get into the gym and work on his shooting would put the fear in him. Wonder how Penberthy feels about that (not that I care) and what the back story was that they didn’t hire him when he was already working with KCP, Kuz and now the article says Rondo too?
Long season. Role players have slumps during the year. I wouldnt worry too much about DG. He will get out of it.
