Did someone post yet Pitino's comment about Russell being the best passer to come out of college since Magic?

I know they usually interview first rounders immediately after they're drafted. Does anyone have a link to the video of Russell's interview?

Wow that's saying something. Rubio has a lot of holes in his game, but he's one of the best passers in the league.

I never considered Jordan and Russell playing in the backcourt together. I hope Jordan can make that switch. I love how Jordan plays D. Hopefully Russell can bring the same energy. Kobe at the SF is long overdue and with the ball out of his hands, he might be able to play more games. Randle at PF. C'mon Aldridge! Join the fun!

Really thought we would go Okafor, but not surprised.

Bleacher Report likes the pick. For you Ric Bucher fans, he loves it.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...2015-instant-reaction-and-grade-for-no-2-pick

I also know that everyone wants to fill all of our needs in one offseason, but I think these guys, Bucher here, make a good point that we took the guy we thought was the best player at 2, and will fill other needs as we go. He says we took a piece that is for the long term, looking for the future, because we aren't going to have a fully formed team for the future in one offseason. We got a piece now that they think will lead to bigger things. Again, it's the argument we've heard since he was taken, that there are lots of free agent bigs available, and almost no star guards (Bucher cites Westbrook in 2 years and nobody else), so you go for a star guard when you can. Not everyone will agree, not sure I still do, but I get the thinking at least

Watching some videos, I'm getting more excited. I knew he can score, but I'm finally seeing the passing and off-ball ability that some of the scouts were raving about. One thing though, after one of his Laker workouts, I distinctly remember him answering a question about whether he sees himself more as a 1 or a 2. He said that he's confident in both, but that if he were a Laker, he'd focus more on off-ball play since Kobe's the man.

I really hope that was just a politically correct statement that he felt he had to make. In terms of ball dominance, I want to see it go 1.) Russell, 2a.) Kobe, 2b.) Clarkson.

We just don't know if he's ready for that yet, Helljumper. I think we should let him come along slowly.

I don't know what to say. I'm on the fence about this pick. I really wanted Okafor

I love russell, I just hope it doesn't hinder Clarkson. Clarkson at the PG was impressive.

Clarkson had the ball in his hands to create for himself and others. He will have to adjust to play off the ball.

We picked Russell thinking he's much better than Clarkson so I'm not too worried about it... I don't know that he's better, but that's what the mindset HAS to be otherwise you take the safer pick in Okafor.

Clarkson did well in Summer League and Pre-season spot up shooting off the ball IIRC. I think that's going to be one of the great strengths that JC/DR will have. Both can create, both can shoot and both can get to the rack.

I think he could be better, I just think it kinda devalues an asset that we already have and we still have a huge hole at center.
    Hopefully we can sign LA

Clarkson has always struck me as more of a SG. he really did progress as a PG last year, but his instinct is to attack. i don't see how Russell hinders Jordan's development. i think they're going to form one heck of a backcourt duo for years to come.
