He's just following the NBA guidelines on how to be a douche bag leader!

Best player on the court. Again. 32-7-3, shot 55-50-100. Was +11. Ideal tank performance.

rodg, if you're suggesting that russ is good at being a high-scoring player on a bad team, i don't know if you'll find an argument.

Best on the floor. Both teams. The Nets made the playoffs last year and had their best season in some time. The Warriors’ roster is just amazingly bad right now.

My post about his last game was saying he’s killing it and GS is doing what they want. That’s all.

oh i don't, either. i just think most people would agree that if you gave russell the keys to an offense a la harden, he'd score a bunch, but it's unlikely that team would be super great.

in fairness, he's playing with a skeleton crew, but on the other hand, that's maybe the only way he gets the keys.

There’s definitely something to this, but he did get the keys in Brooklyn - for a season. Then he got shipped out. So it’s a problem for both the narratives. Brooklyn was decent. Then he got shipped. But he’s had the keys twice. This one took injuries (like to three possible HoF players). That’s unusual.

I confess I don't much care for DAR, but he has a pretty sweet stroke.

He's not one of the former Lakers I'd like back though. Wish him well, and I hope he finds a great hairstylist someday.

GS must be pumped...Russ keeps getting big numbers and keeping a high value for the case they want to ship him out.

I can't criticize him for the losing because his teammates are terrible and he plays in the west...so winning should not be expected out of this team even if they had the best player in the world instead of Russell....

How to be like Harden, shoot a million times and don't play defense.

I don't think that's a plausible take. Do you? Dinwiddie started only four games, played 500 fewer minutes, and though an offense-first player, posted a usage only slightly higher than LeVert and Napier. (Very similar numbers to Kobe and Dwight in their year together.)

Man, LeBron/AD/DLo + MLE and vet mins would be an interesting team, now and post LeBron.

maybe not. he did play a lot of minutes and handled the ball quite a bit, even if he was nominally a sg in those lineups, though. anyway, it's a fairly minor point. i think i just said it because in both scenarios walking in, the coach could have felt confident that they had another option to lighten the load at pg (dinwiddie, then curry). he showed it wasn't necessary in bkn, and we can't know in gs.

DLo's efficiency is improving on a poor team. It would be one thing if he was chucking and scoring... but he's up to 57% TS% (a career high) as the focal point of the offense with no one to take the defensive attention away from him.

Now it's possible that the Warriors are so terrible this year that no one cares enough to guard even him... but it's also equally possible that he's just getting better with age and experience.

I had also wanted him if we couldn't get Kawhi... but Kawhi screwed any hope of that with his maneuvering for PG.

Would have been nice to rebuild with AD and DLo or AD and BI.
