To some degree (with coaching staff and Phil Handy yet to do their thing) .... our rim protection and vertical threat is back.

Looks like he has good timing as shot blocker.

From what I’m reading from fans of other teams he’s been on, he is apparently pretty bad.

Not going to get my hopes up, but also not going to complain over a 10 day contract. Makes sense for emergency depth while AD is out and we monitor to see how the buyout market shapes up. If Trez or Marc get in foul trouble, would rather throw Jones out there for 10 minutes then have to play Dudley at Center.

been a mediocre defender and pretty bad offensive player. he reminds me of kwame brown minus strength, with slightly better ups and hands and slightly slower feet.

    he's better than kostas.

He’s a 48% career free throw shooter. That will fit right in with our team.

What’s not to like? He’s got two weeks to prove himself before the allstar break.

I see no downside, it’s likely just to take a look and maybe to get some of our bigs a few mins rest here and there they wouldn’t have otherwise gotten. Having to make up for the absence of AD has to be tiring.

Well, he's tall, athletic, long... can jump for sure, so he might be able to provide some shotblocking, or maybe even an occasional lob threat in limited minutes. We'll see; I'm cautiously optimistic.

Not like we have anything to lose. At the end of the day, his role will be similar to what any big man who has some athleticism should be able to do. Rebound, block shots, and set picks, and lobs. If he can do that at an above average level, LeBron will turn his game to way more than it really is.

Highlights should be up on YouTube soon but just imagine Javale McGee. It's refreshing, though, since we haven't had a lob threat since AD decided to go mid-range and we moved on from Dwight/McGee.

OK, this kid did exactly what we need him to do. Scored 8, grabbed 3 boards, blocked 2 shots in 8 minutes. Could be a 25-year old McGee in limited minutes.

Runs like Kwame Brown...upright with short steps. Was bumped on pick and rolls sent flying. Wiseman just overpowered him on a flush. Made two at the stripe with good form. Was not a liability overall. Decent mobility. Solid showing.

To his credit, this was the play right after he tweaked his back on a rebound.

There was defensive play where he basically picked up Eric Paschall from the 3 point line and forced him into a bad shot. But Paschall got him back in another play by driving and lowering the shoulder, like you said, sent him flying.

But I liked what I saw. They went immediately into a Schroeder pick n roll when he got on the floor and they got an alley oop. I hope the back injury is minor, I think he can contribute to this team.

I counted three including the one that sent him to the locker room. Jones' mobility isn't bad. He showed on the perimeter...was able to get back to his defensive assignment. Jones' picks were right too.

Damian is who I thought he is. After looking at that compilation clip up top. What a great pickup for basically no money like Markieff last year. Pelinka’s going to be dangerous when he figures out what he’s doing.

    :Magic Brows:
Hope his back’s OK. Didn’t look like much .... kind of hyper extended his back backwards on the play under the basket.

Wait until all the defensive minds on this team and coaching staff have their way with him.
