https://bleacherreport.com/articles...all-time-player-rankings-nbas-top-50-revealed It's been the talk of the social media basketball world. Some controversial choices. Primarily #14.
david robinson ahead of kobe? big O? steph curry??!!! no, no, and definitely not. people can quibble about the others ahead of him, but those guys...that's for clicks.
Manu, Westbrook, and Harden are all waaaay too high. And unless Curry wins every year until he retires, he's not one of the 10 best to ever play.
Who cares, they ranked them by PER and all advanced states b******* and never watch any games, except highlights on YouTube or ESPN.
I tend to think these rankings are stupid, but this one takes the cake. Lets forget about Kobe for a minute. Not even gonna get into my Lakers here. David Robinson was a fantastic player, and I truly respect the guy. But in what kind of world he is better than Hakeem Olajuwon. Sometimes I do think it's kind of impossible to compare to players because they are from completely different erasm like comparing Wilt Chamberlain and Shaquille O'Neal. Other times it's tough to compare guys from the same era because of really different situations and positions, like the case of Kobe and Duncan. But Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson are two centers from the same era and they both pretty much shared their peak. And while Robinson was a fantastic player, I think it's pretty clear who was the best center among those two. I don't think I've ever seen someone say Robinson, maybe not even Spurs fans (maybe they'll begin now?). I'm a Pau fan. I truly am. I loved his game with the Grizzlies before us and I loved how he played here and did an excellent job as a secondary star behind Kobe. While Shaq and Kobe is the most dominant thing I've ever seen, Kobe and Pau didn't have that oppresive feeling, but it was extremely fun seeing them together in the court. Pau is also one of the best international players ever, probably second behind Dirk (what is Manu doing here again?). But come on son, in what universe he is better than Rick Barry. Rick Barry was a freaking amazing player. I'm actually using Pau here as an example, but Rick Barry was a better player than a lot of guys in this list. This might be just me, but I also ways felt Mose Malone has always been incredibly underrated and/or underappreciated. This guy was good, like, really good, like arguably best of the league good at one point. And like I said before, different eras, but I would most definitely take this guy over David Robinson. Actually, I'm now surprised Tony Parker in the top 50, after seeing Robinson, Manu and maybe even Duncan (who at least has the best argument to defend his position). I also think Manu was a fantastic player and I actually respect him and I can actually appreciate his game a lot (especially went he played against us). But what in the world is he doing in this ranking. I could keep going all day, but yeah, I'll just leave it at that. I don't even need to get into Kobe or the ranking here of the guys who are still playing.
yeah, the olajuwon/robinson thing cracked me up a bit. i mean, you can actually see their names right near each other when you're finishing the list. you don't think back to the early 90s and be like...gotta switch that, now?
LOL That's a dumass list... Pau, who I love, have no business being ahead of Zeke. Who, at 47, is an affront to common sense. Who would take Allen or Manu or whoever else this moron put there ahead of probably 2nd or 3rd PG of all time? I mean... I'm taking Magic and then it's Stockton/Kidd/Zeke.
Also.... dumasss... Look at this: So, he was even lower, but then the 20 years were taken into consideration? I mean, he has no other credentials than being competitive and long-lasting? What is this? AC Green wedding toast? I can't even... Who is the dimwit? Goddammit...
Nah Man. Channel the rage you let loose when you're feeling it after giving up sleep for Game Time and KCP goes KCP. That "Kobe was moved up to 14" comment deserves your best.
My doctors say I have a limited amount of rage left. Imma preserve it for when AD goes doen with a season ending s***, that is going to be misdiagnosed by our "medical" staff.
probably be Lebron though, and snap his other groin or other high mileage injury. I think this team can be successful without Lebron, but not without AD.
Did they really put the Admiral over The Dream? Really? As if the 1995 western conference finals never happened? Seriously WTF Hakeem at his peak may have been better than Jordan. I want what the people who made this list were smoking.
I think that Russell over Wilt is also pretty crazy, but maybe I'm wrong. The overall numbers favor Wilt by a longshot. But I'm interested in head to head competition, too. Russell's teams won more (57-37). But in h2h showdowns, here are their numbers: Russell: 14.2 points, 22.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, shooting 37% on FGs. Wilt: 29.9 points, 28.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, shooting 49%. Maybe Russell was an amazing defender, but Wilt scored 30+ in 50 of those games, 40+ in 24 of those 94 games, 50+ four times, and hit 62 (in a loss). In playoff h2h games: Russell's team took 29 of 49. Russell: 14.9 points, 24.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists 41% FGs Wilt: 25.7 points, 28.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists on 51% FGs
Russell was not the focal point of the offense, Wilt was. Russell's team won, Wilt's didn't. At some point you have to look at a team player vs a one on one type of player and judge them on win percentage. There is NO greater winner than Russell, and rings are everything!
