I actually would have like to have taken on Jrue in the deal. He is overpaid, but he would be a great 3rd star, and it would have solved our gaping hole at pg.

Would we even have been able to match the salaries with Jrue included?

As long as you don’t go 100k over the cap (109m) using space to absorb a deal, then it’s legal.

We had enough salary (21.6m) to match AD’s 27.1m deal. So we had 32m in cap space to absorb Jrue’s 27m deal no problem. Even after using up that space to fully absorb Jrue, we would have had roughly 6m in cap space left (ie maybe AD kicker to lock him into a max extension asap ;))

Jrue is a decent player but you'd be tying up salary trying to recreate the 224-268 record that AD and Jrue racked up with Kuzma taking the place of healthy Boogie post LBJ.

In his only game against Denver last year, Davis exploded for 40 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, going 20 of 21 from the free-throw line.

Phenomenal D down the stretch to put this game away. DPOY for sure! Ended up with a pretty nice line, too, especially for a guy who was sick. Not MJ or Kobe flu level but still he rocked it. Now practice your free throws!

We don’t win without his defense. He put Jokic in his place and big time blocks. Just need help on the perimeter because KCP and Green aren’t cutting it. Hurry up Bradley!

Incredible defense tonight. Don't know how he finished with one block but you could COUNT on him to alter shots beneath the basket. Performances like this get me really excited for the playoffs.

Jovic is used to having his way at the end of games with people in this age of small ball. Nice to remind the league what having real skilled bigs is all about.

I missed the game. I’m assuming you want someone to post because he didn’t play soft this game?

To me that’s like getting happy after games that Rondo or KCP play well. It’s going to take more than that. Defensively he’s great every game I’ve watched. Offensively? No. He has settled for mid range fade away crap far too often and hasn’t punished the opposition when it seemed he could have in the low post.

watching Lebron be afraid to back down CP2 doesn’t mean he’s not a great player. It means he has holes in his game, and objective fans being honest with themselves call out their own players for it. Just like calling out Kobe for tunnel vision games.
