bynum was a pretty good FT shooter for his size yao was the best FT shooting big man i can remember. malone too. jokic has to be up there as well
Offensively they would probably be terrible but I want to see what defensively Trezz/Drummond look like on the court together
Drummond is basically a rich man’s version of what we got from Dwight Howard last season. This is a GREAT pickup.
Anyone know where we can watch the press conference? Spectrum is just showing a rerun of last night’s game
The way I see it, Drummond better play the way Vogel and the Lakers need him to or he's going to get low offers in free agency. It seems teams don't like Drummond's attitude and him forcing bad shots so if he could change his role to be more like Rudy Gobert, he can easily get a huge contract next season. He's on a contract year so he will probably do whatever it takes to change his image. This means no more constant post ups, no dumb shots, and more Rudy Gobert-like plays like defending, rebounding, and cleaning up misses. Since Lakers will be missing AD+Bron for at least 2-4 more weeks, Drummond will be a huge contributor. Who the heck is stopping Montrezl+Drummond on the boards? I think his role here will be huge since the Lakers need to keep their playoffs seeding in time before AD+Bron come back. I really like Drummond but the concerns are there regarding his empty numbers at times. I think that has more to do with being on bad teams where he is expected to dominate whereas his natural role seems to be more of an interior enforcer just eating up rebounds and easy baskets. LeBron is going to do a great job getting him wide open baskets. It also allows the Lakers to get some rim protection. Man, Drummond+AD on the paint will be beautiful to watch and that is ultimately why getting Drummond is huge. It eliminates the competitors from getting him and now no one has a better frontcourt than the Lakers. What will the Clippers do vs Drummond+AD when they only have Zubac and Ibaka? A lot of other team fans want to crap on the Lakers for this by saying Drummond sucks but we got him for free. Which player available was better than Drummond in the buy-out market? He was easily the best. Now there are rumors that the C Bags, Clippers, and Heat are considering DeMarcus Cousins because they missed out on LMA and Drummond. Schroder Drummond LeBron Kuzma Davis The size the Lakers can have on the court will destroy teams... Apparently Drummond has a higher rebounding rate than Dennis Rodman which would make him a top five rebounder in NBA history and the rest of the dudes ahead of him are all from the 50-60's so you could make a case that Drummond is the greatest rebounder in modern NBA.
It should be on YouTube. You can filter the results to show only Live videos. If not, I'm sure there will be an uploaded replay shortly after it happens.
Look at professor Handy looking at AD2 (left side pic, 2nd tweet) and knowing what he and this staff can do for this 27 year old just entering his prime stud. I’m with @Slick2021 here in thinking if this works out Rob’s going to pull off some ultra @slick@ moves to keep him a Laker. Just absolutely stoked about this pick. I was whining and crying like a little ***** 3 days ago missing Dwight’s muscles and toughness down low.
I didn't realize just how good he was at steals. 5th in 18-19 6th in 19-20 That's damn impressive with that size
i understand the criticism towards him from other fan base. saying his #s are empty n dont lead to win, why would any 1 look at Drummond that way? if anyone should be blamed for det losing n clev losing it should be Griffin n Love, who are always injured and basically not even living up to their contract
The fact that we've been 6th defensively without Bron, AD, and Dudz is impressive (largely without Marc, too). Adding Drum will probably bump us up a spot or two, and then when we're back up and running at 100%, we're the best D in the league and it's not close.
Getting more and more excited about this signing. So far he's been saying all the right things, hopefully he shows us some great attitude on the court as well and we should be much more than fine.
