this toe injury is just going to linger and keep messing with his offensive production. just sh*tty luck
What a great game by Drummond. I was most impressed by his lateral quickness and ability to hedge on perimeter screens. A frontcourt of Drummond, AD and Lebron has unreal defensive potential.
Reminds me of Bob Lanier. Big body not super fast but deceptively nimble. Rebounds, rim protects and throws his weight around.
You saw the rim protection and the defense from Drummond. How can you not get excited when Anthony Davis comes back soon. They are going to clean up the paint defensively.
Good call. I can see a little resemblance of Moses Malone with the put back offensive rebounds after a miss. I love Drummond quick step bounce left handed block, that reminds me of Bill Russell.
He was an amazing pickup for peanuts off a buyout. No he won’t play this way every game, and yes he’s shaky on offense and has major flaws, but lets always keep the “for peanuts” in mind, he was a steal.
Yep: he definitely messed up some rotations in the 4th quarter but for a guy who is a buyout and is not going to be asked to the be focal point, he's intriguing. Wish the Lakers had more time with him and AD/Lebron to get him to work no his off ball game, defense, boxing out. If things work out for him, he'll learn to play the "right way" and he'll be able to make some money back on his contract that he lost with his mediocre play as a 1 or 2 option. One thing I think someone mentioned last year as it didn't matter if you had a shooting advantage last year against the Lakers as between AD/Drummond/Howard they can cover so much of the court from just their reach that the Laker defenders were able to focus closing out hard.
He got off to a good start offensively, but it looked like he really picked up the defense in the second half. He did a great job transitioning his defense to offense in the 3rd... he was Mr. Fast Break out there. Nice handles in the open floor. Really impressive performance. You can see him getting more comfortable out there and the conditioning is improving. Also wanted to bring attention to the FT shooting. Made 7 of 8, they even tried hack a Drumm once. For a guy who came into the league shooting under 40% and at the moment looks better at the line than a healthy LBJ. He and AD just eat up so much space and can cover ground quickly. The court is going to get really small for teams that have to make a play in the halfcourt against a healthy Lakers squad. I still can't get over the fact we got a top 10 center for free. If we can convince him to stick around....oh man!
Good game , his hands activity was key in the start of the 2nd half . Finished with power at the rim and yeah the FT stroke was surprising . Stress free
