He shouldn't. But .... if Wes gets in foul trouble against a big wing or any other dire situation we can feel pretty good that he's not a scrub. Decent on both ends and taller than Wes.
One of the more underrated guys on this team. Would love to see him back. Could do a lot worse for a 12th man roster spot.
He seemed to play pretty well when called upon, agree. Not bad on D, hit some shots and hustled for rebounds.
as someone said above, i thought he should have played instead of mclemore. mclemore is streaky and a bad defender. mckinnie at least looked competent defensively and knocked down a shot here and there. i'm fine with him being one of the only guys we have under contract.
I wouldn’t have minded keeping him at the end of the bench. Always liked the energy he brought when he got some spot minutes, and his shooting was surprisingly good with us too, albeit a limited sample size. We are already starting to build up a logjam of 2’s and 3’s in our depth chart, so it makes sense to cut him. Curious if we have something specific lined up that we want the extra roster spot for.
bet it was mutual. he needs a place where he'll get a shot. i'm not sure current ariza is a better player, tbh, but we're in win-now mode and probably didn't feel like finding out.
How many players can you use that for? They just stole Stanley Johnson back from South Bay for the same thing. Did they lose someone for the season?
I think they can keep using that exemption with each new guy going down. They've been getting decimated with Covid and injuries
