Last season, Alex Caruso earned the reputation of being the NBA’s advanced stats darling. Even though Caruso wasn’t a star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, he ranked highly in plus-minus (+3.8) and net rating (+9.8), the latter of which he led his team in. Sure, plus-minus and net rating aren’t the most “advanced” stats, but they’re notable.

This season, Caruso’s proving that wasn’t a fluke. Through 16 games this season, Caruso has posted a plus-minus of +6.3 and a net rating of +17.5, the latter of which is once again the highest on the team, in large part due to his defensive rating. Per 100 possessions, the Lakers allow 10.1 fewer points with Caruso on the floor than they do with him on the bench.

because in the tax level the Lakers will be at, 9 mill will be around 35 mil, Figure THT will get around the same, that'd be 70mil for both. FO probably said pick one and it's THT (at least I think they'll sign THT). Apparently, the FO wasn't as high on AC as the fanbase is, not 35 million high anyway or higher than THT.

The preternatural chemistry displayed here is a common occurrence when James and Caruso share the floor," writes Pete Zaya of The Athletic. "Not only is their +24.7 net rating (in 445 minutes) the highest mark among the Lakers’ duos, it’s the best net rating of any pairing in the NBA that’s played at least 150 minutes together

LOL seriously this is so ridiculous. I can't stand it

yeah, still terrible; we’ve sold the title team’s identity, tbh.
    You argue we’re a defense-first team now?

Yeah I’m outta here for the day like I said I would be if we let him walk, this blows and we will regret it, his defense and hustle are not replaceable with the money we have to offer.

That's BS. If money is a problem then don't trade 3 established role players for one of the worst contracts IN THE NBA. Don't trade for a guy getting +40m that DOESN'T FIT the team.

    That's BS, if it's money, it's BS

They better not give a penny to Schroder or I'll buy a ticket to LA and commit a crime

This was to be expected after trading for Westbrook and his $44million/year salary unfortunately.

Guys like Caruso are IRREPLACEABLE. Forget the white mamba hype and fanbase love.

Just rewatch the games and see the impact of Caruso. Shooting comes and goes. Talent has off days. There are so many games that having a guy with hustle and energy keeps you in the game. He's perfect with LeBron and AD. Does all the little things that makes room for the stars to shine. Even KCP started to do that sometimes. Now we lose both and will get torched by Lillard, Curry, Luka...

This is so so bad. Oh well, I'm outta here for today

Of course it was the money. As to whether it's BS or not, it ain't your 35-40 million.
