    After seeing Wembanyama put on a show the other night, maybe Indiana rethinks taking just one unprotected pick for Hield/Turner. They're well positioned to be the worst team in the East and a bottom 3 team in the league if they unload Hield/Turner before the start of the season.

    Exactly. Lakers may be rethinking their position as well. I think seeing Wembanyama gives the Lakers tremendous leverage. We could be more picky about a deal.

    There are going to be some teams that do surprisingly bad to start the season. If we are patient, we may be able to get in on a good trade with a team that unexpectedly decides to tank the season.

    I can’t shake the thought in my head, “Good lord…. Victor Wembanyana would look amazing in a Lakers jersey one day”.

    Now if the Lakers crap the season again and it’s their ping pong balls that win the draft lottery, that only makes the pick go to the Pelicans…… you might find me jumping off a cliff.

    but that's two years and the wembanyama timeline is several years out.

    and all this is if wembanyama bucks all historical trends and is still upright in seven years.


    edit: btw, i know it's been said already, but his hype should help us in terms of potential in-season trades. having him and henderson rated so highly is going create some surprise tankers who may want to get off talent for flexibility. we have that!
