I’m fine with Rondo returning. Makes sense to me as long as Vogel doesn’t overuse him In the regular season.

Rajan Rondo has already played two seasons for the Lakers. We should all know that, he has as much interest in regular season games, as Iverson had for "practice ".

I'm also sensing we are playing heavy small ball this year. With LeBron, Melo, Ariza and even THT at the 4 at times.
Hell, we might even have situational lineups with LeBron at the 5.

I see Westbrook, THT, Nunn, Ellington, Monk and Bazemore dividing the minutes at the 1, 2 and 3. LeBron takes the 3 only in the beginning of each half

Brooklyn, but that’s the only team with a chance.

I'm only down with Rondo coming if he's told that he's not gonna play unless everyone else on the bench has been kicked out, caught covid, there's an earthquake and the buildings been evacuated and he's the only one left in the building or he can get his minutes down at the YMCA.

We don't have enough minutes for our wings now.

If he's just gonna be a player bench coach and not play unless all of our wings have died then I'm OK with it lol

I'm fine with it too but I'm not kosher on Rondo cutting into Nunn's minutes as the backup point. He'll get minutes in crunch time during the playoffs most likely but probably not during the regular season.

I don't get the Rondo gripes. We were adding another point guard. Regardless of the depth or strength of the position; Rob, Vogel, and Bron didn't think it was enough. PERIOD. Would you guys rather have Collison or IT? Guys out of the league entirely.

Rondo was instrumental in our Bubble 'Ship. He can get on to Bron and Bron listens. He doesn't afford that right to very many people. Rondo will be key in the helping Vogel figure out how to maximize these offensive weapons we have and getting them on the same page as quickly as possible. We all complained for a year that we didn't have an assistant coach for offense. Well guess what... Here he is!

He's not coming here to be a backup. BUT I think there will be minutes for him from time to time. With the age of our roster, I think there will be times were everyone over the age of 33 will take a breather... whether that's some DNPs or just a big dip in minutes for 1-2 weeks here and there to save them from father time and to keep everyone fresh for the playoffs.

Let's try to John Spartan (Demolition Man) him the best we can until the playoffs and then unleash the beast. BUT if he wants to match CP3 minutes when we play the Suns and fight him again, I fully support it.

He's nothing but an asset on the court, on the practice floor, in the locker room, on the bench, and in the coach's room.

    Thank you Memphis!

I’m happy it looks like Rondo will be back. But a lot of y’all need to be real about him coming. If Vogel still thinks of him as important (and I bet he does), even if Vogel’s thinking mostly in the playoffs, Rondo WILL get minutes in the regular season. He has to learn the new team and his teammates if he's still capable of activating “Playoff Rondo” by the end of the season, plus he needs to get into a rhythm.

The idea of him sitting during the season then playing him bigger minutes in the playoffs simply isn’t going to happen IMO. They’ll pace him, but he will play.

The only way I don’t see Rondo getting 15 min minimum a game behind Russ is if THT or Nunn end up playing really well to start, and/or Father Time catches up a lot more, and Rondo ends up the odd man out.

But Vogel believes in Rondo already, so I’m betting he has the upper hand at the start of the season. Vogel will have to be convinced Rondo isn’t his go to player anymore like he was a year ago.

I was watching the 94 Spurs team, they had Rodman and Robinson cleaning up the glass, Sean Ellioit who was a nice player, they were just lacking play makers on that team, their offense would be slug-gish at times. You can say the 2021-2022 Lakers will not lose because of playmakers.

Maybe it is about the Lakers really finally (considering the states of both their careers) preparing to bring a highly valued Dudley or Rondo into the organization. And there’s only room for one at this time. Tough decision to make but maybe this is what they’re planning if they bring Rajon back. They see even more potential in him than in Dudley. Not securing either one of them considering their talent potentials would be in the same tier bad as letting Caruso go and get nothing. So I’m in …. for that reason alone. Plus he solid left jabbed in the face and then overhand righted Chris Paul.

There is literally nothing that will surprise this team or that they haven't experienced.

I like the Rondo signing. He is coming in to be a backup to Westbrook and Nunn. I imagine this allows Russ to sit out back to backs. We'll have injuries and this is further cover for the 1 and 2 (by allowing Nunn to play the 2). I think Rondo and Russ will also help develop Nunn, Monk and THT further.

I'd like one more 3/4 wing defender and I'm happy to go into the season.

i'm on board with rondo. having another pure pg on the roster is helpful, and his familiarity with lebron, AD, and vogel make it a pretty obvious fit.

i think nunn will be given every chance to keep rondo on the bench during the regular season, too.

Wasn't a big fan of his return compared to others here.
His shooting form is great but it never translated to results.
