Sounds like they're trying to convince Sacramento to take him? Or Atlanta? Those are the only two places who have the cap space left, right?

^^^Well with the recent signings of Svi and Stevenson into our cap space, that all but deads a possible Deng for Melo swap.

The FO probably wanted to do something Kawhi or Deng related which explained the hold up, but now it seems they have moved on.

Theses signings along with the scheduled Wednesday Pelinka presser is probably just him addressing all our signings.

We're most likely done for the moment and our roster seems to be left unfinished.

I don't know man, I think we're okay. We could use another big body, but I think we're holding out to see who falls through in FA. There's a LOT of guys out there still waiting for a check. We can get a minimum deal if we need to.

    Check the odds though:

With our cap space (that we no longer have), we could have even facilitated a Whiteside, Melo, Deng 3 way deal go get Melo to Miami with some picks, Whiteside to LA and Deng and picks/swaps to OKC.

Oh well...this FO has earned my trust, so hopefully our true endgame becomes realized.

Melo to Miami makes more sense. He can start there and possibly (big POSSIBLY) revive his career / numbers with Spo.

It does if he sticks. But with LA next summer having 79m in team salary with Deng on it means we'd either have to stretch or trade him at that time if Kawhi is to get his 32.7m max. Stretching Hassan vs Deng next summer is 9m to 6.3...not too drastic of a difference, but even with 9m in dead cap on the books, we'd project to have 70m in team salary and with a cap of 109m next summer, we'd have about 39m in spending power.

Add to that how we desperately need a rim protecter/runner and how he would be much easier to package in a Kawhi deal later this year compared to Deng, I would definitely try to get off Deng to bring in Hassan.

Anyways, LA doesn't appear to be a likely destination any longer.

So with us out of the picture, I'm happy to send Melo back to NBA Discussion where he belongs.

houston's the obvious fit. it seems they're scrapping their 1-year identity as scrappy team and going back to outscoring everyone. melo WILL help with that, and they will win a bunch of regular season games again.

For what it's worth, CyberX says Carmelo has chosen the Rockets although an announcement is on hold until he's released obviously.

I don't care where he goes.

My assumption though is that he will stink up the chemistry, regardless of where he goes.

The Lakers seem to be interested in knuckle heads on one year deals... Hopefully they stay away from this idiot.

Dude tends to be right, though in this case, it's an easy call.

Easy call for sure. I cant imagine him fitting anywhere else so easily. Funny to see him and D'Antoni mix it up again.

Not kidding, I had a dream last night that he signed with us after he was waived. I think it triggered something bad in my brain because it was the first in a series of horrible nightmares and I woke up feeling like crap.
