What is the very most impressive clip you have seen of Bender. Seriously I would like to see it. I thought you were just going for the laughs with the one clip you posted. He looked weak as hell, threw nothing down, took off on layups too far from the basket and shoots the ball low in front of him because he can right now, unlike taking advantage of his height with a Dirk or even Porzingis.... not as high up but higher up release than your (also) twig boy. No way in hell Mitch and Jim and Luke opt for this guy. There would have to be that possibility for it to truly be a 3 man race. He's a number of years off from being as effective in the league as Simmons and Ingram will be this year.

What's the best extended clip of him doing anything. That draft evaluation one? Which is the best?

    dB

    Dragan Bender

    decibels

    Get loud for Dragan!

Some team will be the beneficiary of signing him, but who knows if it's us?

We're talking about signing a max free agent to the same position he (SF) Ingram plays. And the draft is BEFORE free agency. Not so sure anyone will be excited about signing up for that.

Simmons you take if he's available, period.

Those two are safe choices, but I still question fit vs need vs competing now. I still wouldn't be surprised if Mitch traded down a couple spots for additional assets.

I also see David Lee in our future.

I predict some moves happen on draft day that will raise some eyebrows. By several teams. I expect Philly and Boston to be active.

    Here's one:

    Review highlights:

Quick trigger with 3 pt range
    7' in bare feet
Solid hops for a big, very athletic for his size and filling out his frame.
Mobile, with great handles and large soft hands
18, and has been playing with older teammates for years
Feel for the game beyond his years
    Incredible passing vision
Glue teammate, gets and keeps everyone involved
    Lockdown defender capability
Great back story: Basketball is his way out of poverty.

If he was in the US in a high profile program, he'd be considered a potential #1 pick.

Yes, the other clip I posted was hilarious lame, but not when you compare it to the progress he has made in one year. He'll get outmuscled in the paint for a bit, but his ability to contort his body and finish in traffic will really negate strengths of more developed centers. His ability to drive from the 3 pt line with either hand in traffic is insane.

    He is a matchup nightmare

If Mitch picked him, I would neither be shocked nor disappointed. For some reason I feel like there will be some serious movement on draft day though.

If we draft Ingram at SF, I'm going for a reasonably priced SF in Free Agency with reasonable expectations on playing time. I want Ingram playing and developing ASAP

I consider going after a Matt Barnes type for under 5 mil a year as a stop gap. Smart, tough, plus best in a system with movement. Yes, head case, but good combo of performance and price.

Better places to spend the money than duplicate talent at the same positions. If we go after DD, it's at SG, and either Lou or Clarkson immediately become available in trade.

Should be a VERY interesting offseason. So many ways this could go.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/source--dragan-bender-has--1-3-million-buyout-164937868.html

Dragan Bender has a $1.3 million buyout in his contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, a league source told The Vertical.

The figure is relatively small for an international player of his stature and should pose no obstacles to him joining the NBA team that drafts him June 23.

The agreement in the seven-year contract Bender signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014 has a clause that allows him to opt out and sign with an NBA franchise by paying a buyout that’s twice the permitted amount an NBA team can provide, according to the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.

An NBA team can contribute up to $650,000 to an international buyout for a player picked in the first round. The remaining $650,000 will be paid by Bender in a second installment at a later, undisclosed date and will come out of his rookie scale contract.

Bender is expected to be selected between Nos. 3-7 in the upcoming draft. His season will likely be over by June 9 at the latest if his team advances to the Israeli League finals. Bender should be able to arrive in the United States in time to conduct workouts and take his medical examination. He is expected to attend the NBA draft in New York.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently competing in the Israeli League playoff quarterfinals, where it has a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

Israeli league rules state that at least three spots on every team’s 12-man active roster must be comprised of two domestic players under the age of 22 and one under 25, which has kept the Croatian-born Bender (designated as a foreigner) off the scorer’s sheet in a number of contests this season, including the playoffs this week.

Nevertheless, Bender has been scouted thoroughly around the globe by NBA talent evaluators. Representatives of all 30 NBA teams have been present to watch him play and practice this season, according to Maccabi Tel Aviv, including the Euroleague preseason games played against ArmaniMilan in Chicago and New York last October.

Thanks will check out on a monitor soon. Stalking the aisles of Costco just with my phone now.

OK better footage there of what he can do now at 18. If we had the 3rd pick and the FO wanted him would just have to trust them. Can't see him for any reason now though with the 1st or 2nd pick.

It's not only him. It's on ESPN Insider too. People that do this for a living project him in front of Ingram.

ESPN's opinion is irrelevant. We will make the right decision.

Completely disagree with this article, sorry. If we had to do it all over again I still take Russ over Porzingis. He's done nothing that I've seen that makes me think he will be some awesome star and Russ won't. Russ has just as much potential to be great, he has all the tools you could want in a potential star guard except maybe speed.

I put more credibility in co-author Pelton actually.

But again, I personally don't sign a max SF and draft one in the lotto. Lotto comes first, so will any SF be interested in that? Not so sure.

I'm just not the only one seeing this possibility. Your route is safe. Mine is not. I get it.

I don't think we end up keeping #2

We're not in a position to gamble, we need the best players we can get right now, we need to absolutely be safe. You don't risk the #2 pick on a need and pass on better players. Last season we needed a C/big, yet Mitch and co took Russ over Okafor and Porzingis because they believed he was the better player regardless of need in that moment. You take the best player, and then you fill in the positions of need later. You fill need with mid to late first rounders, 2nd rounders, not with top picks, that's where you go after stars.
