I like the idea, but I can't see why KCP would agree to go to Phoenix. I hope it's true, but I don't believe he'd sign off on it. Perhaps he's going to the third team?

If KCP leaves, we'll need another guard, preferably a backup who can shoot 3's. I've mentioned Nick Young earlier.

@lakerfan2 I'll gladly eat crow on this.

Haha, so we itched Mintz back (renouncing Jules) and he itches ours.

Honestly, I didn't see that coming. But if this really comes to fruition, you know why Rob did Mintz a solid now.

I'm hoping it happens...would be so dope to get Ariza back. I loved that guy and our perimeter D would be so lit!

Man I would friggin love this. Finals tested vet, corner threes are money, still plays decent defense, makes hustle plays like Hart, would really help this team out.

Interesting idea. I can see KCP signing off on going to Philly.

Let's do Zu for Ayton while we're at it :)

I’d like to see Trevor back. Plays hard, consistent defense. Not sure if he is that much better than Pope, but is probably more consistent. If KCP was “on” most of the time he’d be better; unfortunately he takes some time off on a regular basis.

Key here is Ariza has a 1 year contract, giving us flexibility for next season while upgrading the roster. I'm all for this.

By the percentages he's not an outstanding 3 point shooter, but he's above average on high volume. He also is a very switchable defender and can run, which are pluses in Luke's system.

See, where I would trust Trevor over KCP is playoff defense on a star wing player. He knows what needs to be done.

I'd like to think that if this deal went down it was because of >99.99% Ariza and <0.01% Mintzy.

Also Rob repped Ariza before he took over the Lakers GM gig.

I’m so hoping this happens. I loved Ariza during those championship years. He was part of what made Houston good defensively last year. And honestly, I would feel a heck of a lot more confident in him making threes. Plus, if it goes down, I would send Kuz to the bench and have McGee, Ingram, Ariza, James, and Ball as my starting five. That’s one hell of a defensive group.
