Good explanation and point ZenMaster. I think it'll be alright though ultimately. Like you said, McGee still has the starting job and will continue that. Hopefully we won't lean on Chandler to end every game because I'm not sure that's necessary or in our best interest as you said for McGee's continued engagement (and beyond this year hopefully). Agree with you as always that Luke's substitutions can be head scratching at least some times and infuriating at others. Hope he can keep a balance with all these guys.

We'd have three more wins had he been here all year.

I don't think MCG is going to have a problem with this. He's a scorer and a shot blocker. Chandler is a man defender and a rebounder. We will always rely on McGee to score, more than anyone has ever had. His role is clearly defined and he is doing well. He is not threatened by Chandler in any way, Tyson simply makes his job easier and allows him to rest more. Everyone knew we needed a defensive backup center who can bang in the paint. Chandler loves that, and McGee said it himself: "I lost weight to be the fastest 7-footer in the league. I don't have to bang with the big guys anymore". Great, having this depth will extend his career and make him look better. I think these two guys are perfectly synergistic.

One thing I’d throw out there is McGee wasn’t finishing a good number of games anyway. We were using stupid small ball lineups because McGee was gassed by the last 3-5 minutes of games. Now Chandler is finishing instead of like Kuz at C, so I don’t think there’s any harm to confidence done. Also, with this last game, a lot of the starters got a good deal of rest because we had a big lead until late, and I’d assume because we have a back to back. So maybe it was more of a case of saving as many players legs for tonight as possible.

You know what's amazing? How much better Luke Walton is as coach with Tyson Chandler on the roster.

Chandler's solid play highlights how insane it was that the Lakers FO thought we could start the season without another quality big. Such a breath of fresh air.

    76-6 for sure now.

I don't think McGee will have an issue because TC's presence actually makes McGee's minutes more predictable. We still have too 1 too many guards, but having 2 capable centers has shifted the rotations in the right direction. Had we not picked up Chandler I think you could place blame on management for the team's early struggles. It was not a balanced roster, but maybe they were always intent on bringing in new pieces. It's too early to tell.
