    Hahahaha!

My God. The FO is more incompetent than I realized. I made fun of the Tristan Thompson contract, but this may be worse.

Mozgov was just sooooo bad last year.

Hey, at least, we marginally improved from Hibbert.

    He's 30 years old.

    He has stone hands.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that the FO knows what they're doing and they're going to flip this into Cousins or something. Please.

    Hahaha 16mil per year...
That means that biyombo should get max easily...or that 80% of the league deserves at least +20mil...
If there is team option,i can swalow that pill much easier...
But i cant believe that anyone would give that kind of many to back up center, which is more of third string than starting center...plus he wasnt even playing last year...
I am rooting for every our guy but to me that is to much even with new cap...
Than how much we pay clarkson or randle when their rookies deals are up? If i was them i would be asking for 20mil each if mozgov gets 16, even nance shouldnt setlle for less than 12-14mil...

I mean, if a lumbering Bogut can help them dispel 20-25 mpg, Mozgov should be able to as well right?

The idea will be the same at least:

    1. Protect the paint
    2. Rebound
    3. Set big screens
    4. Finish around the rim

Bogut is probably a much better passer given the chemistry, but nothing a little coaching and time in the system won't do with Moz.

There's a team option after three so not as bad. Still not a fan of the deal, but whatever Mozgov is a Laker so I'll support him. He brings a guy who can finish, decent defender although not a great rim protector, can set screens, and a glue guy which we absolutely need.

You yourself said you just logged in so I'll let you digest what's taken place a little longer and even wait til FA ends. We could have done a lot worse and given the new market. This might not be as bad as some jump to conclusions on.

Mozgov barely played last season compared to his career. Cherry picked the argument with that one.

Last season Mozgov played a little more than 500 less minutes than Roy and...
    - Had almost the exact same amount of points (6 less)
    - Shot over 12% better from the field
    - Had 60 less rebounds (more than 2 more per36 though)
    - Was 9% better on TS%
    - Was 3% better on RB%
    - Had a better BLK%
    - Had 1.5 more Win Shares

I'm just kind of in shock still. $16 million/yr for a backup center is hard to swallow.

Mozgov looks like Ethan from Lost. Mihm looked like Jack from Lost. Anyone seeing a pattern? One of Jim or Mitch is a fan of a cult tv show and is basing his free agent acquisitions based on that. Any bug eyed big man still available?

"Well Preserved" lol, or unworthy of minutes. I guess we'll find out.

For reference, Stephen Curry is getting paid 12 million this year ha!

Horrible signing. Mitch and Jim are imbeciles. Why not resign Hibbert? I give up on this team until the Buss family is gone.

All good points. Unlike many others, I'm a very happy fan. He seems like the perfect fit.

Not sure he did that right. If the cap went up 35%, the example he gave was double.

    3 yrs 24 million = 8 million a year
    3 yrs 48 million = 16 million a year

His point is that it isn't that crazy, as other backups are getting paid 11-12 million under old cap, and this is similar with the increase.

How did he get it to being $8M/yr? This season's cap was $70M and next season's is projected to be $94M. $16M is 17% of the projected cap, which would be equivalent to $12.4M in this season's cap.

Mozgov played nearly 80 games and right around his career average in minutes last year. 3rd highest minutes played as well for his career. How is that cherry picking?

Lets also put this into perspective. Mozgov played on the Cavs, a much better team than the dysfunctional Lakers. He also played against bench players. We are also literally comparing him to Roy freaking Hibbert.

Mozgov might prove me wrong if he can do what he did pre-injury. I'm not so optimistic though. I don't think I saw a single good game by him last season. Imo, until he proves otherwise, this is a very poor signing that I don't think any other team would have made.
