Movgov signs with the Lakers for four years/64 million. Not a fan of the signing at all, but he did play very well for Cleveland last year before getting hurt. Hopefully he can get back to that. Welcome to L.A.

Fans will continue to complain about this deal. I'm not a big fan of it either. But nothing is going to change now. I'm going to embrace him and hope he gives us everything he has to earn this contract. One thing is for sure, he will never be a locker room problem.

Honestly you guys are going to be shocked by the numbers being thrown around. When the dust settles I promise you we're going to look at this contract and nod respectfully. It's not the sexiest or splashiest move, but it was a position of need at a market value. When Bazemore gets 20 million this weekend, we're going to breath easier.

This is just the first step, we're far from done.

Now as for Mozgov himself: I'm not a huge fan. I think he's more of a backup in today's NBA but he fits as a poor man's Bogut in the new offense. He can defend the rim a bit with his length, he runs the floor well, and by all accounts he's a good guy to have in the locker room. It's not the greatest signing of all time, but remember it was only a few hours ago we thought we were leaving completely empty handed and taking other teams' dumps. This is a decent deal.

B- move, but welcome to the team Timofey.

    Welcome...

I'm sure he'll be an average starting center and we need one of those...

I don't expect him to play more than 24 minutes either, which will be fine because that means more Tarik I hope.

We're not going to get the big names here, so we might as well fill needs without breaking the bank in relation to the new Salary Cap.

If anything, the man will come and play basketball, no questions asked, no drama.

Not a fan but not complaining too much. We could have done a lot worse.

Whether we agree or disagree, I do like Mitch's new ideology to start FA this time around. I'm not talking about player choice or contact type, but:

    No Hesitation.

There appears to be a plan that none of us would have guessed about since we were all focusing on big name FA's. The approach might be completely different by going with all second tier guys. We may end up solid and still developing....

and we might also have some serious changes in the Front Office too.

I have yet to see it but @Barnstable said in the FA Thread that there are reports out there they say its a team option for the 4th year.

If this is true and we look at this contract compared to all the other new players who signed contracts this off-season when the dust settles I think we'll be real pleased.

Not liking this signing, does he even fit with Walton's offense?

Smart move. He'll start and give us some much needed size; he will fill that Bogut role.

logged in just to post.... this is a horrible signing, regardless of the cap increase.. cannot believe the years or amount.... he is slow, unathletic, dunks very awkwardly, only uses one hand to dunk and is a master of nothing. what an upsetting start to FA. F grade for me easily

decently yes. He's one of the better pick-and-roll players in the league. He can be Bogut for us.

He's probably wearing this right now!

Hopefully we'll be able to see his 2015 NBA Finals form here.
