Good luck at Cal, Theo. Assistant coach position is open. Who do the Lakers hire? Metta? Lamar? Nick Van Exel? Ron Adams? Gary Payton? Michael Cooper?

Metta is the immediate answer for me. Makes the most sense.

    A defensive coordinator please.

Metta would be a good specialist coach, but we need someone to teach these kids how to hedge.

How is Metta gonna teach our guys how to be a Hennessy drinkin', Paul Pierce pantsing, Piston fan beating, Kobe choking, James Harding elbowing, Brandon Knight punching, crazy interview-givin', name changing player he is? I mean they don't just give the J Walter Kennedy citizenship award to anybody you know.

Seriously I love MWP and though he is smart about the game a lot of that like passing I fear is instinct. Let alone defending. He's not an X's and O's guy so much, he was never much of a lateral player. He can't impart fast hands to someone. His Tyson-esque legs let him lean on his man all game until the dude was shot, who's he gonna teach that to, Ingram? The enforcer thing was ran out of town by the NBA. There are no tough guys now. Look what they did to Metta, he's a kitten now. He's got a great attitude but I don't know if he can offer much else. He's still a great example of toughness and effort to the kids and if any coach can work with/understand him it's Luke. I just don't know if there are others that may deserve the slot more.
