I’d think that was a possibility too.

I think we stayed tough on this initially. But with losses and injuries piling up, I think if LeBron really wants this there is a good chance we’re going to try and make it happen.

The only games Melo could have "helped" us is when Kuz was out and nobody was able to generate points or even get shots up .

    Beasley > Melo

I don't know why Beas doesn't play more

Please, no banana-boat buddy favors. I wouldn't give him Svi's minutes.

I would LOL at the front office if we get desperate enough to sign Melo...can't shoot and can't defend and plays a position that we don't need help for.

Its also kind of embarassing that Melo is still begging someone to sign him rather than just showing pride, retiring and enjoying your wine and cigar with your buddy Wade.

I think Lakers are being nice about Melo for LeBron's sake...they're clearly not interested but have to act like they're interested out of respect for LeBron's boy...

I hope to GOD we are not stupid enough to sign him though because he helps us in exactly NOTHING.

But Bron, we don't have a roster spot. Who should we cut?

I feel most of y'all looking at it with only one lens...

Could signing Melo be a disaster? Sure, bit put the #basketballreasons aside for a bit...in bringing in Melo the obvious is you're pacifying your star player and other star players will look at it and think, "From the Achilles torn Kobe legacy deal to bringing Bron his banana buddy (no Sirron, not you), LA sure tries to keep their stars happy" and I'm sure that helps with free agency next summer.

Also think of all the members of the hoodie cult...these NBA players will look at our organization and at least feel that we are trying to take care of members in their close knit fraternity. As a player, I'm sure such a gesture wouldn't go overlooked. That's good PR for the Lakers among the players union.

But the biggest thing being overlooked is that if there is a deal where there are more outgoing bodies than incoming bodies that would open up a roster spot for Melo, that would mean the Lakers did something drastic at the trade deadline - we created a roster spot by sending more playerS out and normally those type of moves happen for star players on fatty contracts in return. Normally a big move is followed up by signing ring chasing vets to the newly vacated roster spots, right?

Melo to LA could just be a footnote to a bigger transaction...so I guess I answered my own question as to why most of y'all ain't really seeing it.

Now feel free to return back to your regularly scheduled whine, moan and complaining.
