Which is what we want. Players who actually want to be in the NBA and earn their spot. I’m liking him. Hope he makes the team.

I think individual lockdown defense is a bit overrated in terms of rating prospects. Especially in today’s NBA where it’s more team based. I believe that’s why actual lockdown perimeter defenders are so highly coveted.

I just hate when I read these so called experts saying a prospect is so and so because he can’t play defense. If a player is a hard worker and plays hard and fights for everything, I’ll take that over a young and athletic defensive wing who chooses when to play defense because he knows he’s good at it any day.

"Exprets" also thought Lonzo is going to be a bad defender.

Me-hi-luke. Pronounce these as you would do normally for the corresponding English words. Not that hard.

Hopefully teammate comes up with a good nickname for him

Because they are just going to say no, not going to say it

So I'm watching Mykhailiuk film right now while we wait for FA decisions to be announced.

    Some things that pop out:

    • He's often in the right place offensively. Much like Moe Wagner, Mykhailiuk can be found directing traffic out there.
    • His lack of length will be annoying at times. Even if he's challenging shots and in good defensive position, his short arms can't get there.
    • He moves his feet better than you'd expect defensively, but again sometimes it doesn't matter because of his length.
    • He is a better passer than we'll be expecting. I knew he was good, but he sometimes flashes terrific vision.
    • He does a lot of little things out there, the hustle things. He's not as aggressive as I'd like him to be, but when he is, he can be a spark.
    • Kansas offense often switched on the perimeter so he ended up defending multiple positions and did a fairly decent job.

This pick sucks, just like Mo Wagner pick sucked.

This draft sucked for us...i felt a lot better about our draft last year than I do about the draft this year...

    Here's to hoping I'm wrong.

Where do you come up with that? At 47 you're unlikely to have a better pick than Mykhailiuk.

Yeah it kinda sucks that he only shot 50% from three rather than 60-70%.

Have you done any research on these guys or are you just making assumptions.

Rather than saying “these picks suck”, maybe you can elaborate on each players thread on what you think and who you would have drafted that was available at the time.

At 47, you're lucky to pick a player who stays in the NBA for more than 3 years.

Right. So getting a guy with an NBA skill in that area is important. Svi is a shooter that will translate immediately and a smart player so he's got as good a floor as you can ask for from a 47 pick.
