Not to hijack this thread but...

On a related note...I read somewhere that martial arts star Jet Li could dunk when he was younger...

Lithuania is one of the most storied basketball countries. Sabonis x 2, Marchiulionus, Ilgauskas, Kleiza. It’s MILES better than Japan.

    Come on, man.

Isn't that what I guessed when I answered my own question? Am I correct that it's not on par with other Euro Leagues or China? I really don't know but from what I've read I think that's the case .... those players notwithstanding.

What the hell? I saw this thread and paired with the Kobe thread right next to it I thought I’d jumped back in time, experienced a glitch in the Matrix, or has a mental break from reality.

    Yep. Japan sucks.

Lithuania is probably, if you take the entire history into account, second only to former Yugoslavia, as far as European basketball goes.

Probably so, recently France and Spain have a better crop of players.

But that's like the last 10 years or so... Before that it was dominated by Yugoslavia/Lithuania. Even the great USSR teams contained many Lithuanian players.

I moved this thread to NBA discussion to avoid eye cancer in the Lakers section.

I still love Rob. Good guy. Great character.

Could have done worse for the 60th pick in the draft.

But that was a horrible dunk and a terrible contest.

Coach Nick interviewed him once. He mentioned all the hard work that goes into his profession. Specifically mentioned waking up early.... Sacre specified he does not do that.

Im almost sorry for the bump again, but good god those two "dunks", the first attempt he looked glued to the floor, then on the second it looked like mentally he just thought I'm done! Followed by a basic two hander.
