Of all of the hundreds of accusations, this one might actually take Trump down

So that makes it ok to continue doing that?

I'm not a legal expert, but my understanding of treason is revealing state secrets or top secret information. Not personal dirt on a politician.

Treason also includes the overt act to overthrow ones government. Using information from foreign states to effect the election might qualify.

I don't understand how that qualifies at all.

First of all, the Russian attorney Donald Jr. met with is a private practice attorney. Not an employee of the Russian government. One of her clients is a Russian government official, but unless anybody can prove that she was passing on information about Hillary from her client to Trump Jr., the accusations are baseless.

Second of all, overthrowing an entire government can't be done by simply electing a presidential candidate to a four-year term.

The whole claim is that she DID have information about Hillary. Where that came from, no one knows, but a regular private practice attorney doesn't have hacked US Russian intelligence information.

You're taking the term overthrow at it's most extreme and overt example. The question is if using foreign spy/hacking intelligence in an attempt to influence US elections to the benefit of Russia contributes towards an overthrow.

Would that be a step towards overthrow? I think that would be an indisputable yes.

You're assuming the information she had was hacked by the Russian government. Assumptions don't prove anything.

Only if you read too many Tom Clancy novels.

Donald Trump Jr. did what any political operative does. Look for dirt on an opponent to use to smear them. It's shady, but legal, political maneuvering. Not high treason.

Yes, and you seems to be assuming the information came from somewhere else. Where would that be?

That's a very bold declaration seeing as how this hasn't even gone to trial yet.

Why are you defending this in the first place? I personally don't know if it's treason or not, but you also don't know. Neither of us are lawyers, so why the defense?

    1) She's a lobbyist who's currently working against a law called the Magnitsky Act, which punishes Russians involved in human rights violations. For all I know, she called Donald Jr. and told she had dirt on Hillary as bait to lure him into a meeting where she could lobby him.

    2) What's bold is assuming this is going to trial in the first place.

    3) Because you asked me to. ;) You responded to my initial post.

Trump will never be taken down. Nothing out there is concrete. It's all fantasies and air blown up butts.

Calling Trump names and saying he is this and that will get you 7 1/2 more years of him. My suggestion is get to work and find something legit, otherwise you will have to deal with it. Half of this country loves Trump. He fulfills the pride people have in country and strength, regardless if you feel he encompasses those things.

    Sean Spicer "resigned" today.

Huckabee's daughter has been doing the job the last 2+ months.

I feel bad for Spicer because he was put in an impossible spot from day 1. Hope he lands on his feet.

How many people are going to get fired or resign in Trump's first year of Presidency? Does that not raise any flags for anyone?

It's like a real life version of The Apprentice or something.

Umm, not according to the popular vote, or are we not counting the voter fraud (that wasn't "concrete").

Look at how many states refused to comply with the investigation. Like they didn't wanna know (or admit) anything.
