"Eric Pincus spoke with Dave Smith of SB Nation Radio live on-air a few hours ago discussing the Lakers current situation. Here are some of the interesting nuggets he mentioned:

The Lakers will not be hiring a new PBO, instead will turn the front office over to Rob Pelinka and Kurt Rambis."

No call will be made to Jerry West

I guess something was mentioned about Phil being an advisor although Pincus later clarified on Twitter this hasn’t been confirmed."

I was joking as a worst case scenario when I said it would be Kurt Rambis and Rob running things. Please don’t let this be true, my god the horror.

    Figures.

On another note, I have this feeling we're going to land Butler this summer for better or worse.

I made a joke about it as well. This is nuts. Before this is over, we'll probably like Jim Buss more than Jeanie. How is that possible. The dude that gave us Mozdeng will have a more positive image than Jeanie.

It's not outlandish to have faith for the simple reason that Kawhi to the Lakers is still a possibility. If that happens, it doesn't matter who is in the front office because LBJ/Kawhi/Ingram/Ball is a title contender (assuming KD leaves).

And if we land Kyrie or Kawhi, it doesn't matter. If we land Kawhi and trade everyone except Kuzma (or ideally Ingram) for AD, maybe we don't need to clean house. This team's outlook could go from dire to dynasty in a one month span.

    Exactly this Fab4!

We were staring down the barrel of MozDeng @ 4yrs/136m...down the barrel of our kids being mentored by Nick James, uh Rick Young, uh Nick Young... staring down the barrel of coaching turnovers that would make a suited up Rondo look at with envy....it was hopeless for me at that time.

Now we have Bron with a 2nd max & AD staring down the barrel. I'm at peace with where we at now compared to where we been.
