Speaking of Orlando, what happened with Biyombo? Exposed as nothing more as a role player?

I'm not sure. He's shooting above his career % on FGs, but it's below what he did the three seasons prior to moving to Orlando. Career high PPG, but it's only 6.0. Above his career average in rebounds, double his best assist rate, and tying a career low in blocks. I'd say it's about what we should have expected on a terrible team.

He's a bad offensive player and a very good defensive player. Playing on a bad team, he's going to look pretty darn bad. This is why I backed off him - he would be a great fit if we had a shooting 4, but the $ he played himself into didn't make sense for us. We're too bad to benefit fully from him (and vice versa).

pretty sure he really doesn't. but he probably made more money in five years of incompetence than i will in 25 years of competence. so there's that.

Doesn't help that they were deep at both C and PF positions.

right. have vucevic and gordon. trade for ibaka and sign biyombo to a big deal.

if you think that's good work, i've got a deng to sell you.

Biyombo's stats are very similar to what he did last season. I'd be curious what he can do in a better situation. He's probably just a backup Center and with all the bodies they've got at that spot, he's got no role.

If there's a way to trade Deng to Orlando without taking back Biyombo, I'm all in.

I'd even take back Biyombo under the right circumstances. He's guaranteed to give more than Deng over the course of their contracts. Right?

    Waste of money. :D

Mozgov's presence is really the only reason I wouldn't be comfortable trading one bad contract (Deng) for another. The whole point of dumping Deng is to shed salary. If you can move him to improve, then let's talk but otherwise we're sinking almost 35 million in middling Centers.

They can have Luol. But they can't have Larry. How about Luol for Evan Fournier?

The board said "hybrid-trade" right? I'm assuming that means multiple teams?

    LA in: Paul George
LA out: D'Angelo Russell, Loul Deng, Hou 1st

    ORL in: Luol Deng
    ORL out: Evan Fournier

IND in: D'Angelo Russell, Evan Fournier, Hou 1st
    IND out: Paul George

Lakers don't have to gut the team to get George and shed Deng's contract.

Magic get the Deng they've always dreamed about.

Pacers get a budding star, a scorer, and a 1st round pick.

    Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure it means a hybrid forward, as in a SF/PF combo or a SG/SF combo. If you look at the board, they are looking for wingman and stretch forwards. Deng had a pretty good season playing the PF spot for Miami a season ago, they might think they can get him for nothing and unload a bad contract - if he rebounds they win out.

I'd say most people in Central Florida found the trade targets extremely believable given the moves that the Magic have made over the last few years. They really seem to have something against guys who show any promise and love picking up aging vets with nothing left in the tank so there is hope we can get rid of Deng if for some reason they keep Hennigen around.

If Magic and Rob could find a way to unload Deng this summer, that'd be a win in and of itself.
