Magic stepping down is a step forward...but its also a step backward.

There really isn't much to be excited right now. Chances are his successor is going to trigger another rage around here.

Lot of rumblings about Myers. I'd be okay with that, but I can't see any reason for him to leave GSW unless he knows KD, Green, and Thompson are all on their way out.

^I'd be amazed if they can steal him away from GS.

Myers has all the necessary bells and whistles. He also seems to be a great person.

Just get rid of Pelinka somehow...he has been detrimental to the environment and detrimental to the success of this team. He seems to be enjoying life as the GM as he doesn't have to hunt players anymore and still gets to collect his 7 figure paycheck. And yet, people around the league have put him on mute, nobody respects him whatsoever.

I too am glad he left but the way he did it and his interviews were disgraceful, everything was about me, me, me. All his responses to the media suggest he did NOT clearly think this through when he took the job, he probably thought I'm just gona come in and be magic and everybody will love it.

Griffin or Myers from GS would be my preferred guys. Ironically enough they both have close ties to Luke Walton, but that's not why I want either of them.

I've listened to a number of Bob Myers podcasts and interviews over the last 2-4 years and I'd run through a wall for that guy. Couldn't be nicer, everything he is about is the type of person I'd like to be someday. So well respected too.

^I agree. Myers is a class act and has proven to be able to build a roster.

I pray we get Meyers because of one simple reason: Myers is not coming if he can't get rid of Pelinka and choose his own GM. So if we sign Meyers, I have to believe Pelinka is gone. If Meyers comes, I wouldn't be surprised to see Luke stay. Meyers knows Luke well.

I just hope the next person we get isn’t just gonna pull a magic, and just shoot for top tier agents and have no other backup plan.

Honestly if I was them, not knowing the exact cap situation, I’d throw the max at kawhi and klay, see who bites first. Then throw a deal at Kemba and Randle... I’d think that’s be a slam dunk of an offseason... we don’t need to bank on just a KD or a Kawahi

think he saying magic wouldve been good for a few more head scratching moves, a few more disappointing seasons, etc. but at same time the way he quit gave this franchise another black eye n further shows the s*** show that is this franchise

I'll tell you this. I am about to launch a video game this year and the people we have spoken with from Ubisoft, to Atari to Sony to even Microsoft, almost every single one of the decision makers in these billion dollar companies are complete and utter morons. Not because of their personalities or who they are. But how they conduct professional business. Very lazy, very unorganized and completely clueless when it matters.

With that, it is no surprise that people like Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson, as accomplished as they are, are no different the some of the small time business owners that are out there doing what they do. Jeanie won the genetic lottery by being born the daughter of a genius business man. Magic Johnson made his bones playing basketball and being a walking billboard. However Jeanie commands zero presence or ability to do what needs to be done in basketball operations. Magic after all these years is still a low english speaking blabber mouth with a fan mentality. That's it in a nutshell.

Magic stepping down is a step forward because this team got rid of someone who was incapable of doing the job. We can now go on with hiring someone who is actually qualified as a president of basketball operations.

Magic stepping down is also a step backward because we are back where we were 2 years ago without a clear direction and organizational stability. It is also possible with hire someone who is dumber than Magic or even worse...we empower Snitch with more power.

In a way I'm happy, in another way I'm extremely worried.
