I agree with you that Randle was mishandled. Still not sure what exactly happened there.

But, I don't agree that Kuz, Hart and Zu haven't improved since being drafted.

The free throw issues alone point to a problem.

From what I’m gathering the last time we had a “shot doctor” was Magic’s call last season. At the time Luke didn’t think it was necessary but Magic, using his years of expertise and his two eyes thought it was needed and made the call.

I’m guessing Luke took that same mindset into this season.

The staffing and development issues are pretty obvious to me. Luke’s being stubborn here and I think that’s a mistake both on and off the court for him.

Hart seems to have taken a step back when I watch him but I don’t have the numbers. His overall impact on the floor was positive the last I looked.

I think Kuz is improving on defense and rebounding but he’s got plenty of work to do.

I agree on everyone else but then we were a part of the handful on an island pointing things like this out the last several seasons.

Here’s the thing and I’ll step off my soapbox (can’t promise it will be for long though), it’s going to be so much tougher if not impossible for guys like Ingram to become what we need to them to be without proper support. I’ll keep pointing it out forever if I have to. At some point you gotta look at the system and not just point at the players. One guy fails to meet expectations then that’s on him. Almost Everyone underperforms and you gotta look at the people in charge.

It’s no coincidence in my opinion that the guys most are highest on, Hart and Kuz, spent the longest time in college. They came in with a certain level of college and it shows on the floor.

I have critiqued Ingram and Lonzo a lot, but in there defense, I’ve never believed they are getting the proper tools to develop. I don’t think they are being properly prepared for the roles they are being asked to play which is often different than what there natural skill sets seem to be.

You look at guys we want like Kawhi and George. Well both were coached/developed into the offensive players they are now.

The lack of development is even worse when you consider the adamant stance we took against trading guys. It’s like we just expect to them eventually just become great and it’s not that simple.

hahaha, shot doctor? Can't fix mental midget. Lonzo and BI are mentally weak individuals. They have focus issues. Unless they can Zen themselves, there isn't a Rick Barry witch doctor that can change anything.

Without LeBron this team is what it has always been for the past 6 years... Hot garbage.

We could have had Paul George for the kiddies....

We could have had Kawhi Leonard for the kiddies....

We could have a chance for Anthony Davis for the kiddies....

Please sell whoever and whatever to get him. You cannot have this many kids on the team and expect anything different than what we’ve seen when the kids are by themselves. It’s garbage. Elite players make teams great. We have one and the young kids will never sniff an elite level.

    Trade, trade, trade.

Neither Zo or Bi will ever sniff an all-star selection. Im not sure, we can get a used air freshner and a spare Yugo tire for them at this point.

Don’t think we could get any star with Ingram and Ball at this point. They are getting exposed with all the injuries and getting thrown into the top of the team.

I don't think we ever could. Magic made Ingram immune to trade talks but i think, no one wanted them to begin with. At least not for a superstar.

    Everything.

Also trade value for most of our guys is non-existing right now, except for Pope and maybe Zubac for teams that really need a center.

I’m not sure we can even get Beal for them.

I think the trade that hurts the most right now is not trading for PG13.

I don't think we had a shot at kawhi because Pop would have never traded him here...but Pacers were trying to trade him out of the conference...and they accomplished that. We coulda had him for Ingram+2nd pick easily...or maybe even just one or the other...we didn't, and instead traded D-Lo to dump Mozgov...and we're stuck with Ingram and Lonzo...both looking like average guys that will never amount to anything.

not now. three weeks ago, maybe?

as for vash's pg musings, my contention is still that ingram or the #2 + nance + deng gets it done. hindsight says no way, but at the time, ingram and the #2 were both very valuable--moreso than oladipo and sabonis. it's just what has happened since then that makes it sound ridiculous.

anyway, we're kinda screwed unless a major FA signs in the summer. which is what magic and rob have thought was happening, so...i'll give them a pass on that. i mean, lebron's here and all. if another superstar isn't here in july, they need to be run out of town on the rail still hot from mitch and jim's a****.

I agree partly with what you’re saying, but let’s not forget that PG was letting anyone know who’d listen that he was Lakers or bust. Perception was he was ours and coming on a free in July. We had no reason to make a deal for him because he was implying he was coming regardless of where he was traded. Props to OKC for doing a good sell job once he got there.

It hurts now because we know what we have now. We didnt know before, plus we had the money to get him and keep the young guys. It was the smart move. Paul George not coming was the first time in a long time I felt like I didnt know anything about basketball. I was 100% that he was coming. It was about as perfect a situation as he could have had. I'm still confused about it.
