didn't mean to imply it was the key. it was a factor. for these reasons:

and again, kcp was one of their early clients, and they REALLY dropped the ball by having him turn down a 5/85 offer (he may never recover that cash). so being the team that helps them save some face there is pretty important from my view, and i'm guessing rob knew that full well. add in the communication, and i think it helped get lebron here. put it this way: had we not played ball with kcp, our chances might have suffered some--particularly if someone else had stepped in and helped in that capacity.

@abeer3 I get that KCP gained us a line to Bron (and for that, he's the manna!)...but I disagree that Bron/Klutch were bound to sign to LA for 4 years if we didn't offer a 1yr 12m deal to KCP.

Like I said, we had more than enough cap to give Bron his max deal and turn around and give KCP about 30m on a 1yr deal. But we didn't and Bron/Klutch didn't really make us do it either.

Also we have a huge void at the center position. A Klutch center (Nerlens Noel) still wasnt signed here on a lucrative deal. So all I'm saying is KCP gained us a line to Bron, but it's not like we threw max cash at Klutch and sold our souls to lock up Bron here.

It had more to do with Savannah, Bronny Jr, their 2 Brentwood houses and LAgacy (bringing LA back from the abyss while personally winning a title with 3 different organizations) than it had to do with keeping KCP on a 12m expiring deal.

Now if you're implying cutting KCP a stopgap check till we bring in ADnother Klutch client, then I'm with you on that front.

Don't forget that Jeanie and Magic wined and dined Rich Paul throughout the season as well

Ok, now that was finally the KCP I had hoped and expected to see! Great game, let's have some more of that.

KCP just needs to stick to two things: spot up shooting and not gambling on defense.

When he tries anything else, he breaks up the rhythm of the team with an ill advised shot or leaving his guy open.

So we're back to "give the ball to Lebron and follow my lead" scheme?

its early but here's hoping Beasely only plays garbage time minutes and KCP concedes starting role or plays ALOT less than Hart...I know kcp hit 3's but dude just jacks up shots like he's Klay all the meanwhile just getting light up by just about anyone he trys to guard

Yes, but thankfully we should have some great basketball over the course of the next few days. Basketball is back baby!

I only watch Laker games. That already is 82 dates a year plus playoffs.

By the time we make the finals, that's almost 1/3 of the year. That's enough for me since I have other things to get done and all.

I'm still pissed we didn't keep one of Randle or Lopez.

Imagine this team if we had just kept one of the two, and McGee was our backup?

beasley over lopez seems indefensible right now.

i'll need some real game action to see how i feel about the rondo or kcp/randle swap.

i'd prefer to have kept both and not signed beasley or kcp, i think. more balanced roster, no difference in cost.
