I would, DD offense is so easily disruptivable, simply cause hes not a good perimiter player, take away his driving lane and force him to be a jump shooter, as an all star franchise type player you vant have stat likes like 2/9 with 5 pts in nearly 40mins like he did in gm 2 against cavs and he has had alot of these gms the last 3yrs or so of playoffs, george destroyed him last yr too...hes a more athletic eddie jones to me

As easy as that sounds, it doesn't happen very often. Over the past four seasons, they have won 48, 49, 56, and 51 regular season games and a total of 17 in the playoffs. And this is with Kyle Lowry as their second best player (a player I think is pretty awful, but we might disagree there). DeRozan is 27 years old, entering his prime. I'm not too concerned about what he did in the past few years, to be honest. His growth has been mammoth over the past three seasons, going from a 20-4.6-3.1 on 41% shooting at 25 to 23.5-4.5-4.0 on 45% and then 27.2-5.2-3.9 on 47% shooting. He's good. I wouldn't hate it, but it's not my first or second choice.

Well you also forget the $25mm or so the Lakers will have to spend in FA

Ideally I would expand the deal and take back Melo if the Knicks are willing to take on Moz and Deng

Cant win in big scheme with a star player thats not even respectable 3pt shooter and a poor defender as well and lowry is a big part of the increase in wins, id argue hes as good/important to tor as Derozen

I'd disagree on the second part. Toronto went 15-7 without him this year. There are hard and fast rules and rules of thumb. Need a three-point shooter or defender is a rule of thumb. It's a pretty good rule, mind you, but that's why you add other players - like Russ and Ingram who could be stars, too. One hits threes, one defends. A triumvirate :)

Some of these proposals make me sad.

I hope our summer is much better than this

Huh? Why are you using ingram/dlo as ref when you would be willing to trade them for dd? Where do we get said defender and 3pt shooter with dd in tow? with him moz/deng thats nearly 70mill/yr for 3players...also 15-7 is to small of a sample sz....if you see what tor was before lowry you wouldnt disagree with notion that hes just as valuable to tor as dd

Russ is a solid three point shooter already. Ingram is going to be a plus defender.

Wait. I wouldn't trade BI or DAR for George. Definitely not for DeRozan.

No thanks on DeRozan, his comments on staying in Toronto to build his own legacy made it sound like he was afraid to come to LA and live in the shadow of Kobe's legacy. It could be like how Dwight shrunk when he came here.

I'd offer that same package you mentioned for Jimmy Butler.

Me personally it's to difficult to have a "star" like Derozen even if hes 2nd banana....id prefer lesser stars that dont put up #s like him but is a decent/good 3pt shooter thats solid on D, i.e. Middleton type before the injury....some of the types of gm Derozen has had in the playoffs the last 2 yrs is mind boggling, in a bad way for a "star"

I'm not a DeRozan fan. Jimmy Butler on the other hand . . .

I stopped being a DeRozan fan in the slightest when he rolled over and showed his belly to LeBron this series like a lil b****. Saying he'd give $100 to anyone who could stop LeBron, and they'd have won too if they had LeBron on their team. You can give respect to your opponent, but that's pathetic.

I would call Phil up and see if he would like to do a BI and JC for Porzingis and Courtney Lee

    Assuming PG is a Laker

I'd have to chew on that one. He's a pretty good light skinned dude.
