I wouldn't go that route. In an era of ball movement, spacing, and small ball just don't think Carmelo is a good fit for the way the game is played today. It'll just stunt the grown of the kids especially Ingram.

Say no to Melo. Imagine if he had signed with us 2 years ago or whenever that pitch happened.

We wouldn't be any better, and instead we'd be saddled with a ball stopper that can't defend but makes superstar money. The young players' development would for sure suffer.

Two years ago? No Deng, no Mozgov. We might be in better shape.

I did some looking. Honestly, I don't know that we would've been in much better shape. Even if we'd drafted well and gotten roughly the same people, we'd have similar problems to what we have now.

If you want to know how we'd look with Melo all you'd have to do is look at last season with Kobe. Melo is a little better version of old Kobe, slightly less done, a bit more efficient. Still, too ball dominant, doesn't play defense, we'd still suck. He's just good enough to have won us a few more games though, so we might not have ended up with Russell or Ingram, which would suck.

Currently, I believe the team will have about about $16-20MM in cap space this summer. Now if the Lakers want to make splash in free agency and say get Blake Griffin, I believe he's eligible for a contract starting at near $30MM.

Lakers can reach out to a team like Brooklyn and offer up Randle ($4.2MM) + Deng ($17.2MM) in exchange for filler. Just like that the team could have $35-40MM in cap space to sign a guy like Blake.

Then pray to the BBall gods for Lonzo Ball and suddenly you got a team that can run and gun w/the best of them.

    PF - Griffin
    F - Ingram
    C - Zubac
    G - DLo
    PG - Ball

Wait it out for a year and you can get PG13!!

I think the draft comes before FA, so that's a plus from a planning perspective.

Yes. Really the success of this team and the potential moves are all predicated on getting Ball

with Indy blowing the lead last night, its time to strike.....I'm sure they'll going to get swept which is good for us. But Bird/Indy can suck it if they ask for Ingram and pick. All I'm giving them is Mozgov, the pick if we keep, maybe even Hou pick if our pick is 3rd, randle, maybe clarkson. That should be the most we should offer.

everything would have been easier if Mitch and Jim were fired before they can sign MozDeng, that's the most incompetent twin signing in the history of sports
