i don't see it happening, but i'm on board with this idea. When i watched Ennis at Syracuse, he was a solid PG that could hit the 3 at a respectable clip, create enough to be respectable, but didn't dominate the ball on offense. I think

All the contract sites are showing the option was already declined.

Yup. Said that earlier. "Ennis doesn't have another year remaining. He is a free agent after this season. That 4th year option on his rookie contract was declined"

As someone who prefers DAR at SG, I like the idea of auditioning a young PG like Ennis the remaining games. If it doesn't work out, oh well. No harm, no foul.

    Ennis's Positional Ratings (LA Comparison)
    PG: 64 (Clarkson)
    Scoring: 4.82 (Ingram/Deng)
    Passing: 3.58 (Russell/Calderon)
    Hustle: 2.23 (Calderon/Williams)

Not a good scorer, decent initiator, low hustle stats, so-so positional efficiency. He's a bench player.

I'm actually sorta excited to see what he's got. Still a very young guy. He'll get more PT here than any of his other teams, and we'll see if the claims of him hitting the 3 ball & running an offense are true.

Is he unathletic? 29" standing vertical, but he had a 36" max vertical. 11.12 lane agility. 2.84 shuttle (second fastest in the draft class). 3.30 3/4 sprint (Clarkson had 3.28). Seems more like not a great leaper, but I wouldn't call his athleticism lacking.

    Check this video:

Selfless/pass-first, quick, takes Smart off the dribble a few times. Doesn't dunk, but so what? Good vision and nice handles.

Wow... I'm a lot more interested if he is actually as fast as Clarkson, because he certainly plays with more pace/control.

I was not familiar with Ennis' game but I'm really liking what I see in the highlights. I dig that there's a lot of drive and kick which DLO is sorely lacking. I think he might be a good front court match with Russell actually - more traditional PG with some speed to get into the lane with drives and dish. DLO only seems to be interested in pick and roll/pick and pop and getting that bit of space for the midrange shot. He barely ever drives any more.

He doesn't have JC's first step, so he'll need a little help from the bigs with a screen. Fortunately for him, Larry and Zu know how to set good screens.

Well Cello surely could not shoot the 3 ball or much of a mid range J. We may be improved here?

It would just cement the idea that DLo sucks. Its not like all coaches hate him without a reason. He just doesn't bring it with a satisfactory frequency.
