I like this guy if for no other reason than he kept Deng on the bench for a game.

Be able to get better on offense with the skills and shooting aspect in addition to the defense and his athleticism would really be super. Kid plays so hard and dangerously though right now trying to make it to the NBA that he could be a candidate like Nance for injuries. Great to have a defender and shot blocker from the back court.

Like we were discussing in the game thread, I really like this guy. I hope we sign him for the rest of the year.

Only saw him a few plays, but his activity level on the defensive end is impressive.

He closes out well, his help defense is there, nice to see some perimeter defense for once, especially down the stretch.

I'd rather have guys like this at the end of the bench compared to Calderon/Huertas/MWP. In retrospect, these are the type of guys we should be rolling with at the end of the bench. Young, hungry, something to prove. Dallas has cashed in on these players this season (Yogi, Curry).

If he doesnt develop a shot this off season i dont think he'll make it....outside of dlo/young, we have really poor 3pt shooters, none of pf can shoot from the perimiter and moz/zu are sporadic from the perimiter

Tony Allen made a living off not having an outside shot and a was a horrible free throw shooter.

Nwaba is actually a decent off ball slasher as well.

If you have a player who can help play defense and create turnovers and translate into fast break opportunities, that would be extremely valuable in this team.

Tony is sort of an anomaly and his ability to impact a game was fantastic for his limitations. Nwaba is going to have to find ways to impact the game other than his defense which has been above average. That means rebounding, passing the ball, etc. So far he's a guy I want the rest of the year and he'll get a fair shake this summer to make the team in Metta's spot.

There are a few poor shooters who stick because of their defense. Thabo wasn't good in his first five seasons. But real is right - downright pathetic outside shooters find it hard if all they do is play balls out.

it's funny how a lot of these defensive specialists could score in college. bruce bowen could score. tony allen was a point forward type at ok state iirc.

i like the way nwaba competes, but he's a long shot to be a long term nba player.

glad to have him for now, though. he might shame some of these fools into playing hard all the time.

Yes, Nwaba is playing like his life depends on it...and it does.

The rest of the players...they chill.

The way this guy fights around screens makes it so we don't have to switch on pick and rolls. Russell and Clarkson could learn a thing or 10 from this guy defensively. There was one possession where Nwaba had already fought around the screen and Clarkson stood lost like he wanted to switch.

And that recovery speed closing out is fantastic, especially when he was able to block that wide open corner three. Did not expect him to get out so fast.
